Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, rumor has it that Lara Stone gave birth a couple of days ago. Just somewhere around the Met Gala… Because you know, a fashion baby just has to come at the right fashion moment!
There’s no word about the name yet, although I read somewhere that Lara’s husband, British comedian David Walliams wanted a ‘normal name’ for the baby, so chances are this baby, although I’m sure he’ll wear the most amazing fashion tidbits, will wear a lovely name just like his mom and dad. Oh, and yes, the only thing we know (technically, the only rumor flying around, but you know how much I love a good piece of pregnancy-baby-related news!) is that the happy couple welcomed a baby boy! I’m sure they won’t stop here and that they’ll be adding to their brood later down their happy marriage road! Blessings and quick recovery for the lovely mama! (thanks to the Dutch Vogue’s archives, here’s a good look at a normal-looking pregnant model!)

By now, every fashion-individual and their respective dogs has seen the pictures, drooled over the dresses and rolled all the Red Carpet of their vivid fashion imagination trying to replicate and emulate the Met Gala’s main highlights.
I wanted to add the final point to this outstanding fashion extravaganza but I wanted you to weigh in as well, crowning my side of the story with your perspective. Because you’re worth it (wink) and because I love discussing fashion with you and Red Carpet gossip is my favorite kind of gossip. Now: about last night! There were many sides to the 2013 Met Gala story, but few really captured the spirit of the evening PUNK: Chaos to Couture.

Nothing is official yet – or so I think since I haven’t seen it everywhere in the news, but Doutzen Kroes has a new hairdo! She has taken a page out of the Flotus book of (hair)style and now Doutzen Kroes has a nice fringe to frame her pretty flawless face!
We’ve seen her with clip ons before, so I can’t say this is a surprising look, but Doutzen has such a lovely, almost perfect face that it would’ve been hard to assume it won’t suit her nicely. It seems, though, that the change happened for a reason – a pictorial reason, biensur, or maybe she just went out of hiding for this job and we finally got a chance to see her bangs. Until more details will surface (and with many thanks to our dear friend, Appollonia who tipped us about this), how do you feel about Doutzen Kroes new hairdo?

Talking about movies. And 3D. And new social standards… and more. But generally about movies: the new Iron Man 3 will be released tomorrow, Friday, in theaters US-wide. I still don’t understand the approach for this one: being released internationally before being released in the US, but I’m no marketing specialist (if I were, StyleFrizz’ FB account would’ve read 300k fans, not 3k like it does now – wink – subtle enough?).
Gwyneth Paltrow, as we discussed before, reprised her role as Pepper Pots and, biensur, Robert Downey Jr. brilliantly performed again as The Man of Steel. I would love to discuss more about this new Marvel adventure, but I’ll leave the profoundness for another time as I already dug too deep in the Gatsby thing so I’ll keep it on the cover. The Entertainment Weekly Iron Giants cover.

While I was admiring the Red Carpet pictures from The Great Gatsby premiere, I got word about the famous Young&Beautiful song performed by Lana del Rey on Gatsby’s soundtrack as Lana premiered it on stage in a sold-out concert in Luxembourg.
We discussed this before and all agreed upon the amazingness of Baz Luhrmann’s release of The Great Gatsby. The final countdown is on. Almost a week from here, it will be in all and every theater near you. In 3D! Nowadays if a movie really respects itself and the new cinematic standards, it’ll have to go 3D. Otherwise it’s just soooo last season! Scott Fitzgerald himself couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to bring his imagination to life!
But we all know that with every Baz Luhrmann visual movie comes an equally spectacular audio soundtrack. And this time is no exception. Jay Z, Beyonce, Florence and The Machine, Gotye, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra and so many more lined up to enchant our ears during the two-hours long movie! And let’s not forget Lana del Rey, whose style is perfect for the spiritual depth of this story! Her song is aptly chosen as it nonchalantly asks ‘Will you still love me when I’m no longer Young&Beautiful?’

I know, I know, I’m usually not here to judge, but you know how everything is image-related nowadays and remembering the reactions Karlie Kloss provoked when she did that Vogue Italia issue some months ago, I just don’t understand this project she’s in…
Cherry Bombe is a biannual magazine about women and food. That’s how they describe themselves. For their first issue ever, I was surprised to discover they chose Karlie Kloss as a cover girl! Karlie. And food. This is either a very smart or a plain uninspired choice from the good people at Cherry Bombe!
Smart because seeing Karlie eat and knowing how she looks like and that she’s a professional model could set a wonderful example for young ladies but also a false incentive to eat and think that good genes would/could take care of the rest. Which they don’t…

These past couple of days I was reading this and that piece of news and briefly concluded that being a creative (in any field: from design to music) is like living in a closed circle. Artists look down at us, mere mortals, and think: ‘oh! poor mere mortals! They’re not like us, creative gods who have the power and the freedom of arts! They’re limited!’ But guess what?! We, who can look upward, backwards and pretty much every way we want, are not the ones who are limited! Au contraire!
We have all the freedom we want! They don’t! The mighty creative souls are eternally damned to swim in the same creative waters. Swirling together with oh-so-many other talentful individuals, also creatively blessed. So a nice, tight little creative society, borderless, nationless and utterly misfit (wink) is created by the said creative individuals. Who can’t and won’t feel free with any others except themselves. Trusting one another with artistic endeavors and creative missions, their art ends up like an over-chewed piece of meat: tasteless, shapeless and… useless (ever wondered why we keep referencing Masters of times past arts more than the contemporary artists?).
But that’s just a theory. Here’s a happy project, which is none of the above. Well.. almost: Nina Ricci’s L’Air du Temps is one of the most famous, most worn and appreciated perfumes worldwide. As such, its essence can’t be profoundly altered, but the packaging can. Not radically, but slightly. Olivia Putman, one of the most creative individuals France prides itself with momentarily put a spin on the old Air du Temps.

Isn’t she beautiful? As I’ve made no secret out of my admiration for Jennifer Lawrence, more and more proof justifying why everybody loves Jennifer Lawrence keep surfacing. This is just another one of those countless ‘awwww’ moments in JLaw’s direction.
Attending the 24th edition of the Annual GLAAD Media Awards on April 20th, Jennifer Lawrence was beaming, as always, looking pretty and flawless and sporting a new haircut. Or the old haircut with a new styling. Either way, she looked lovely!
As I have not read the books myself and I’m not aware of Katniss’s evolution, I’m sure those of you who are more knowledgeable in Hunger Games than I am, would point me in that direction if Jennifer’s new hair is due to her trilogy character. I may be overreacting, seeing this cut everywhere, but, really, isn’t this just one of those infamous momhair-cuts? …just saying! I’m sure the good fash-people will not agree with me, but I’m a free soul and I like my fashion views just as diverse as sincere and just.
