It may be the ridiculously rippling effect ‘Zoolander 2’ has on us and on every media ever since the news broke out about its release. After all, January 2016 US Vogue’s cover was held by an Oscar contender who swept every award so far (Alicia Vikander) so February’s cover highlight is Zoolander in a tight embrace with Penelope Cruz.

Long introduction? It’s a long lasting effect, what can you do? Thing is, Cesare Paciotti unveiled its Spring Summer 2016 ad campaign with Alessia Ambrosio and Justice Joslin as photographed by Mariano Vivanco. And although the titled sat nicely above the images, making it impossible to be mistaken about the lady within, I couldn’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance with Penelope Cruz!

Ever so often we’re looking at endless catwalks, countless fashion shows, compressed fashion weeks or dull Red Carpets but rarely do we capture the spark and the essence that is Haute Couture.

It’s always in the details. The tiniest stitches, the smallest sequins and the shiniest beads. There lies the very magic of Haute Couture. I’ve had my pink years and my purple years, now, as my minimalist fashion sense is controlling me, black and grey are definitely my wardrobe palette de coeur. Getting less colorful in my looks has left me with a lot of freedom when it comes to accessorizing. I love bold earrings, in funky colors. I love fancy belts and happy scarves, I love fancy nail art and unruly hairdos.

But I like my clothes on the monochromic side. So when I’m not wearing grey or a variation of greige, I’m definitely wearing black. From head to toes if I can, yes. If I wasn’t so clumsy to spill anything and everything on me, wearing black could’ve helped me be more wash-conscious!

Wellies may be in our permanent wardrobe rotation come fall, however, few of us actually see the rubber boots on Saint Laurent’s runway. Hedi Slimane came up with a collection torn from the Glastonbury landscape circa early 2000. Suspended in a the muddy temporal loop, Slimane’s Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2016 collection is an epic blast from the not so distant fashion past!

Looks we’d see Kate Moss wear or on the backs of some rock royalty offspring born and fed with the silver spoon who isn’t afraid of dirt trashing a silk sequined embroidered dress. Hedi Slimane’s collections are the perfect example for fashion snobs mimicking authenticity and taking uniqueness pre-styled right off the store rack.

Fashion Week season, oh how I love thee! The multitude of catwalk presentations, the spontaneous gatherings of fashion luminaries on the streets of New York, London, Milan, Paris! The gazillion inspiring street style photography! It’s like a shot of fashion adrenaline to live on for months!

How much of this fashion is just for the show, though? A couple of years ago, getting an invite for a Fashion Show was glorious while the Front Row was the fashionista’s ultimate candy shop (even worth fist fighting for). Now that more and more fashion shows have adopted the live streaming and street style photography is worthy for a Vogue column, how do fashion shows keep their edge intact?

As the year’s last Grand Slam tournament opened its hard courts this weel, we’re all rooting for our favorite raquet maestros competing for the trophy. Will Rafael Nadal win this round of the 2015 US Open after missing last year because of his wrist injury? Maybe ATP’s no 1, Novak Djokovic recovered his fantastic shape as he struggled during the preparatory tournaments this year?

Will Roger Federer prove his legendary tennis art as he seems to be unstoppable on hard court lately? Or perhaps Andy Murray is going to win his second US Open trophy this year? Stanislas Wawrinka already has a Grand Slam win this year (Roland Garros, keeping Novak Djokovik yet again from adding La Coupe des Mousquetaires to his trophy wall) but he is a winner here at the US Open, why not a second win? Or perhaps Marin Cilic will defend his 2014 US Open title this year?

‘Fashion used to be so easy back in the day’ is becoming a defining phrase for another generation! Remember when SATC’s (original) Carrie famously said that she used to buy Vogue instead of food because it felt it fed her more?

Yeah, well… not anymore! Fashion’s on-paper media feel so antiquated, it should change the newsstand for auction houses & collectors markets!
