Kate Moss Models For Her Fred Jewelry Collection

Remember we talked about Kate Moss taking on a job (well, kind of) as a jewelry designer chez Fred? A little detail about her collection might trigger that memory – Kate’s Fred Jewelry Collection is inspired by her very own tattoos! (anything?)

Anyway, here’s a fist look at the ad campaign for the above mentioned collection. More pictorials I see, more I understand why Kate Moss is such a highly esteemed model. Even this Fred campaign is a good example to illustrate how Kate Moss is wearing the clothes / jewelry and not the other way around. She has a status of her own, something we’ll only see happening with one of the Supers and less with today’s models. Why is that, anyway? Why do they have to go over the top with the styling and everything when really, less is more? (oh, and just one word about Kate’s Fred collection – I love it!)

Helena Christensen’s Home

Talking about Helena Christensen a while back and her wonderful work (and lots of fun, I’m sure) she had done in the Duran Duran video reminded me of something I was waiting to share for a while already: Helena Christensen’s home!

You know I love the backstages of fashion and what better behind the scenes than some very respectable fashperson’s home? It’s their very foundation, the key to the “real person” outside the fashcraze! And Helena Christensen has this amazingly eclectic apartment filled with treasures and little pieces of history (which she hunted intensively through the world’s thrift shops). What may surprise you to find out is that Helena considers the food to be essential and so she installed the kitchen at the very core of her home, bonus the generous dinner table for all the guests! Joan Smalls The Last Magazine Fall Winter 2011 2012

And this, my daaahlings, is why I love Joan Smalls! The age of the Supermodel may have well ended, but there will always be models and .. supermodels! And Joan Smalls is of the latter.

She has that beauty and inner spark I used to see in the likes of Christy Turlington and Liya Kebede. Here she is for The Last Magazine Fall Winter 2011 2012 as photographed by Karim Sadli. The black and white pictures are wonderful and make Joan’s natural beauty even more striking. Anyone knows why this girl seems to be forgotten? Yes, I’ve seen her catwalking so many shows this season, I lost count. However, I think fashion magazines should highlight her more than they do now. Which is close to nothing (sad face). And it just doesn’t make sense: look at her, isn’t she perfect?

Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen Vogue Espana September 2011

Oh! This could have been so beautiful on so many levels! So, so beautiful! Instead we’re having three supermodels, amazingly gorgeous women with a terribly expressionless face, trying to pose seductively for Vogue Espana September 2011.

Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen photographed by Tom Munro wearing starry Dolce & Gabbana outfits can also be seen individually for the Spanish edition of Vogue September 2011. Maybe the cover below, with all three of them is the newsstand cover while individual covers with Claudia, Eva or Helena are the covers reserved for the subscribers? Either way, you can see more images, with Claudia, after the jump and a video with scenes from the London photoshooting right after the jump! (Vogue via)

Carla Bruni Pregnant?

There’s a particularly interesting rumor circulating according to which Carla Bruni, one of our favorite supermodels, would be pregnant.

The news bears even more weight as Carla Bruni is currently married to Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president. Which, biensur, makes Carla Bruni the First Lady of France. And one of the most fashionable First Ladies ever. After Michelle Obama, my favorite. If the rumor proves to be real, congratulations are in order, for Carla will be “maman” again: her first child, a boy, was born in 2001 to her then – boyfriend, a French philosopher (Raphael Enthoven). Time will tell…

Lauren Hutton’s Alexis Bittar Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

Each time I see an image of Lauren Hutton promoting fashion, I feel in the mood for smiling. Because she’s so beautiful and because people still love her, after all this time! She truly is an inspiration (especially when there’s no Photoshop involved)!

And we’ll be seeing so much more of her this year for she’s starring in the 2011 Spring Summer ad campaign for Alexis Bittar‘s beautiful and bold jewelry. Only one official image has been released so far but after the jump you’ll find two additional pictures from the website, screen caps from the photo shooting.

Also – I’d like to be like Lauren Hutton when I grow up! (I say that a lot, don’t I?) (Alexis Bittar via)

Naomi Campbell’s GQ UK March 2011

Men are always drawn to controversy. Especially if it involves a beautiful, beautiful woman. A legend in her own kind. Because I won’t full myself into believing that Naomi is anything short of a legend. Yes, she’s been bad, and yes, she’s all kind of mad, but come on, you have to give it to her – she’s gorgeous!

So there she goes, Naomi Campbell for GQ, the UK edition, March 2011. An interesting cover, to say the least, with a very appealing title: The last of the Supermodels on… (well, some pretty serious issues).

Also – Cindy, Linda, Eva, Jane, Helena (who have I forgot?) would like to respectfully point out the ridiculous in the “last of the supermodels” tag applied to Naomi. Wouldn’t you? (You can read more from Naomi’s exclusive interview here)

Cindy Crawford’s Bullett Magazine First Issue

If I was to name one of the supermodels that I could (read want) absolutely relate to, that would be Cindy Crawford. Let me count the main reasons: she turned an alleged disadvantage into a major advantage (her iconic mole), she kept her natural look (hair) throughout the extent of her early modeling career (early because it goes on even as we speak) and she was made from flesh and bones, not just your average bones-skinny model of today.

So naturally, seeing her on the cover of a magazine is something noteworthy and a must share. Bullett Magazine’s first issue ever has Sin – D – Cindy Crawford on the cover and she also graces an inside pictorial with a mighty fierce appearance. Photographer: Kayt Jones. Stylist: Becks Welch

Also – don’t let anyone tell you different – your life begins at 30. 40. 50 and darn well more! It’s all up to you! (more images after the jump! Click here for the gallery!) (Bullett via)
