Now that’s something we haven’t seen in a while! Since Rodarte 2008, that is! Spikes, studs, nails, anything that stings and looks like a thorn, it was right there, on the models catwalking down the Versace Fall 2013 Collection runway! Harnesses, necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings, it was all pointy.

Everyone is trying real hard to shove a ‘vunk’ idea up our fashionable little heads, swearing that the collection is actually a mix of punk and the usual Versace spices with just a pinch of edgy. However, I still see no novelty and no real innovation in a collection that’s mostly a trying – too – hard to escape the fetish clouds although all the thorns point in that precise direction!

Although it’s possible you may hear about the Stand Up Guys Soundtrack’s Not Running Anymore (Bon Jovi’s Golden Globe nominated soundtrack song), I’d like you to stop and listen this piece right here, from the said movie’s soundtrack.

Baby Huey Hard Times is featured on the opening sequence’s soundtrack and is oh-such a lovely, powerful soul funk work of art! It comes all the way from 1971 and it’s a glorious match to the overall style of the movie: just hit the jump and play on! Have you seen the Stand Up Guys, by the way? Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin starring!

Now that the shoes are out of the way (for the time being at least), I can finally talk about something else I noticed during the Fall 2013 Fashion Week: the Rodarte Jewelry!

And what a set of jewelry! Barb wire necklaces, barb wire earrings, barb wire bracelets, barb wire headbands, barb wire belts. Anything barb wire jewelry, you’ll find it chez Rodarte! It’s not the Mulleavy’s sisters first foray into the bling field but they sure are the edgiest so far!

Yes, I’m well aware of my pink obsession. And yes, I’m also fully conscious that you’ve been given a fair warning regarding my penchant for many things – all things – pink. But that’s not the main reason why I’m doing this late Valentine’s Day jewelry piece… (bare with me a while, we’ll get to the bling thing in a sec!)

Because, after all, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so I might have given it a little bit more consideration and column space if … my head wasn’t so much in the clouds lately. But, let me walk you through this story’s coming about process a bit! As it happens, my sweet daughter had her head in the clouds yesterday as well. She was singing and dancing and laughing all day long.

Jessica Chastain, my dahlings, is clearly one of the most fashion daring individuals I’ve seen walking the Red Carpet at tonight’s 2013 Critics Choice Awards! Not only she’s matching her red hair and lovely redheaded skin complexion to an all red dress, but the very cut of the dress is ill-fitting.

Jessica opted for a Prada burnt red dress with jewelry details around the neckline and in the back (actually, I can safely say that the back of her dress is more interesting than the front, which is clearly a loss when you’re one of the 2013 Critics Choice Awards winner – Jessica won for her role in Zero Dark Thirty).

Interrupting our beauty sleep in preparation for this night’s first 2013 Red Carpet event (that’s People’s Choice Awards, in case you’re wondering…) for a special news bulletin: GQ put Beyonce on top of their ‘100 sexiest women of the 21st century’ list.

And on their February 2013 cover as well, according to a recently Twitter – viral cover leak.

It’s a great cover, honestly, and I cross my fingers for it not to have been photographed by Uncle Terry (looks like his style a bit, doesn’t it?). And she sure looks all kinds of hot in this barely surfaced image!

Also – congrats to Beyonce for her newly received title. You just can’t have too many (titles. Or covers)!

Oh, and talking about 2013 events: the second Inauguration ball is taking place January 21st 2013 with, traditionally, Beyonce singing. The National Anthem!

Now that’s interesting – something I haven’t labeled Marie Claire with since that prettier than life Angelina Jolie pictorial (to freshen up your memory, head – on here to see it). Marie Claire US February 2013 chose Heidi Klum as cover star and Marie Claire UK February 2013 went for Emma Watson!

Let’s put them side by side and try a comparison. Just kidding – I won’t compare them, they’re larger than life in their own rights so other than gracing the same month’s Marie Claire cover (but in different editions), I wouldn’t have much to say about the ‘comparing’ matter. With the Awards Season’s Red Carpet waiting by the door, here’s Homeland’s Claire Danes covering Elle US February 2013. Because, as we all know and agree, Carrie Mathison is one of the most authentic, dramatic characters in Television right now.

Rumor has it that Zero Dark Thirty’s Maya was shaped after Carrie.. I haven’t seen Jessica Chastain’s interpretation of the lead female agent responsible for the Bin Laden operation (in Kathryn Bigelow’s perspective), but all the critics can’t be wrong, can they?

As far as Claire Danes’ Elle‘s cover goes, it’s a Carter Smith classic, all white and simple. Letting the eyes do all the talking. And the Bvlgari watch & bling. Not bad for a $7,000 watch (plus the ginormous bracelets) cover product placement, huh?
