Talking about Kate Upton and why she got a Vogue US cover and if she really deserved being called the world’s hottest supermodel pointed me in this special cover’s direction. Which I wouldn’t have missed or keep for myself for the world!

Remember the Met? That was a week ago! Well, this year’s Costume Institute Exhibition is about PUNK: Chaos to Couture. As we all know Anna Wintour, Vogue US legendary editor in-chief, curates the exhibition just as she presides over the annual charity Gala which, as our dear friend Appollonia said, was dignified with ‘un-fun’ by the world’s most beautiful woman, Gwyneth Paltrow.

If Gwinnie said so, it must be so! But how fun is this (alternative) New York Magazine Cover with a very PUNK Anna Wintour on the cover? Pink streaks and nose ring? Heavenly. Punk! A huge thanks to those responsible for this mess.. ahem cover… ahem… whatnot!

Remember when the world was more shattered about David Bowie’s announcement that he was to release a new album? Everyone cheered and instantly adored the new material. Not that we lacked reason to do so when just one video from David Bowie’s latest album, ‘The Stars (are out tonight)’ is just as iconic as we’d expect, with Tilda Swinton, Saskia De Brauw and Andrej Pejic starring, directed by Floria Sigismondi.

Andrej has come a long way from being a fashion curiosity and he appears to be enjoying the spotlight and wanting to keep it for as long as possible. And that’s what he keeps telling Galore magazine where he did his latest fashion stint: that he even wants to be on the cover of the American Vogue!

Now let’s see: we’re 50 something days into 2013 and Beyonce already has three magazines covers under her belt: GQ, Vogue US and now The Gentlewoman Spring Summer 2013.

The first half of 2013 looks under Queen B’s reign. Which is nothing short of amazing news for Beyonce since she’s actually going on tour this year, her new Mrs Carter tour with royal promotional material! After years of Gaga domination, it’s B’s time now, she’ll be selling out stadiums and concerts arenas without even blinking!

Back to Beyonce, The Gentlewoman: the cover (as the entire pictorial accompanying the published story) was shot by Alasdaid McLellan and – although clearly different from her Vogue photo story – only helps us understand that ‘it’s Beyonce’s world and we’re just living in it’, like Anderson Cooper famously said after the Inauguration lip-syncing issue!

You may remember I was a bit surprised to see that Karlie Kloss’s new haircut had received a six pages coverage in the latest issue of Vogue US. They even brought the big guns for the occasion: a high profile hair stylist & photographer, not to mention the model itself.

However, more I look into it, more I discover that this new chop may just be the latest it haircut! Models letting go of their usually long hair to embrace the short bob looking home – made more than anything else. Here’s Catherine McNeil, my latest it haircut discovery! Though she just graced the cover of Vogue US January 2013, Gwen Stefani seems to be spending the Holidays in the UK. Recently spotted in Primrose Hill, walking around with her husband, her kids and her step daughter, Gwen Stefani was sporting her usual edgy look.

I loved her hat – my inner hat gal was envious of her hat coolness. I was in complete and total awe about her layering capacities – that long cardi underneath an army coat? Sheer fashion brilliance! But wait – what’s there finishing up her army – edgy mom outfit?

A nice, comfy pair of Dr Martens boots! Cherry, all pretty laced up (curiously, I always thought Dr Martens boots were for the young population. teens and tweens. clearly I was wrong). But really? For days I’ve been trying to find the perfect moment to bring out the amazing get togetherness that is Patti Hansen & Keith Richards’s family as photographed by Bruce Weber and styled by Camilla Nickelson for Vogue US’ August 2012 issue!

Yes, the same one with Tatjana Patitz and her son! Although slightly made up and heavily make-up-ed, the extended version of the Richards at their Turks and Caicos retreat, at Parrot Cay, on a North Caribbean island, is totally made after my own heart!

You’ve heard it too… Rumor has it that Anna Wintour’s reign was cut short by French Nemesis Carine Roitfeld.

Just when I was complaining that Vogue Paris is looking more and more like Vogue US with their celebrity covers, I may have found the reason why. Vogue Paris has became Carine’s training field for her future position: editor in-chief of Vogue US. It seems that recent cut backs in advertising and closing down Vogue Men made Wintour the perfect candidate for a downgrade. Hence, a dignified resignation. Could this be true? While everyone was waiting for Vogue Russia’s Aliona Doletskaya, Carine was making her own way to the States? (via)
