Jessica Stam Opens Up About Vogue Italia Controversy

We’re used to being amazed by those beautiful, graceful models anytime, with any occasion. But how often do we really want to hear them talk? Find out what they really have to say? Jessica Stam was recently questioned about her perspective over Vogue Italia’s Over the Top controversy (you know, that too – much issue covered by Joan Smalls!).

And here’s what La Stam had to day about it all (when asked how she felt about that Haute Mess story that some people considered racially offensive):

“I don’t know, the pictures, like the references were pulled off of websites and pretty exact to these…references, so I don’t know. I mean, it’s all in fun and people get…(mumble, mumble) I don’t know …whatever.”

Ginta Lapina’s Perfect Blonde For Vogue Mexico April 2012

I know metallic shades and fabrics are a must have / wear this season (and the next), but this Vogue Mexico April 2012 cover looks just like a January cover – glitz and glam, party all around! Ginta Lapina as photographed by Nagi Sakai looks every inch the cover material she was hired to provide; by far one of the best covers this year so far! Vogue Paris, take notes, that’s a metallic cover!

Kate Moss Wears Vogue Eyewear For New Ad Campaign

What was I saying? That we don’t see enough of Kate Moss lately? Well, it would appear that today we’ll have enough of Kate Moss for a while! Vogue Eyewear new Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign features none the other but the beautiful Kate Moss. Because all the other models were already booked, duh!

But I’m not complaining, after all! The pictures were taken by Mario Testino, the sunglasses look interesting enough and I admit I’ve been scrolling up and down their website for some optical frames for kids (remember, two of our kids wear corrective eyeglasses). And, although the Vogue eyewear website isn’t generous in information at all, I managed to find at least one item I liked! So you see, Kate Moss was convincing enough for me as to go browse Vogue’s eyewear website, hence, La Moss worked her marketing magic once again! Kate Moss Photographed By Tim Walker At The Ritz For Vogue

Though it totally looks like promotional material, Kate Moss at the Ritz is pure visual bliss! Grace Coddington really signed a stunning piece of magazine work through this inside pictorial found in the pages of Vogue US April 2012 (yes, the one with JLo on the cover – which cover didn’t warn anyone about the heavenly goodies inside).

I may be not be thinking straight, my objectivity being blurred by the sight of Kate Moss who’s not doing as many magazine pictorials as before, now that she’s a settled woman (it’s not just my impression, is it? But I’m under the impression that she’s not all over the place like she was, say, two years ago?). Also, it’s a couture pictorial – so, naturally, the clothes are so much more beautiful, a thousand times more special and more spectacular than normal editorial items. Ymre, Josefien, Romee Cover Vogue Nederland First Issue, April 2012

So, here it is: Vogue Nederland first issue ever, April 2012. Ymre Stiekema, Josefien Rodermans, Romee Strijd photographed by Marc de Groot. This Vogue is all about the Dutch pride, people!

They’ve been trying to talk about Nederland so much in the main inside pictorial that it has a weird air, you’ll see just what I mean if you hit the jump to take a look at the images (or click here for the gallery). What I loved about this issue above anything else? That they didn’t use Lara Stone or even Daphne Groeneveld to make a boring first issue! Also, they went for more than one model for the cover and the inside pictorial isn’t as static as it could’ve been – almost every image tells a story. What do you think? Is this a good start for Vogue Nederland?

Have You Seen Sienna Miller’s Vogue UK Pictures?

You know I was b!tching and moaning about Vogue UK’s April 2012 cover story and associated pictorial with Sienna Miller? You’re kind on me if you’re saying you don’t! But here’s what I found: I found the inside pictures of that said cover – story. Not that they were a secret or anything, I just took the time to take a second look.

And I’m glad I did! I was actually, genuinely surprised by the looks of it! Plus I imagine it took some serious efforts to get those birds into the camera’s array of action, if only for few seconds, and then choose a significant image to print. I know that just by looking at it, although visually nice and warm and unexpected, you’d get the impression that the pictorial was born by itself. Like self – inspired. There is no such thing. Doutzen Kroes Vogue Paris April 2012 Cover

The first second I laid eyes on this cover, I was perplexed. And I’m certain this is one of those pictures that just won’t grow on me. As much as I love Doutzen Kroes, Vogue Paris April 2012 has it all wrong!

Doutzen looks like David Sims didn’t plan to take her picture but to scare her completely, her hair looks like styled by the stylist’s mad cat and her outfit was pre – arranged by Riccardo Tisci when he presented the Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 collection. Where’s the inspiration? Where’s the fashion revolution and the style Bible paragraphs we’re supposed to bow down to? Oh, and is that a bottle hanging on the necklace around her neck?

Jourdan Dunn’s Perfect Pose For Demarchelier, Vogue April 2012

Jourdan Dunn is one of my favorite models today. She has this quiet grace, a gentle way of being beautiful and modest in the same time! (I’ll always favor models with that extra something – something that’ll make you want to look at them beyond the catwalk or the next advertising poster)

Vogue US April 2012 (yes, the one with Jennifer Lopez on the cover) seems to hide all kinds of treasures within – if we’re to judge after this quick instagram of Jourdan Dunn. The pose is perfect, the Victoria Beckham dress is so fit on her, it looks painted on, not worn! And the amazing image composition is signed by Patrick Demarchelier. I think there’s more fashion beauty in this image than in the entire majestic cover!
