Hedi Slimane really goes for universal appeal with his new musical ad campaign. Well. Sort of. Musical. Because he’s using so many personalities from the musical stages of the world, Saint Laurent’s creative is aiming at global appreciation and recognition. In short: global branding. Translates in global currency.
The French electro pop duo known as Daft Punk is the latest in Hedi’s long list of entertainers/advocates for the French legendary Fashion Maison. Something in wearing a mask and black clothes with shiny sequins appeals to every stylish individual out there. Biensur!
Next to Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence is definitely one of my favorite young actresses. They have a candid, honest quality to their acting and being I keep falling for every time. Every movie. Every pictorial.
I haven’t yet seen her latest (Silver Linings Playbook) but I’m guessing it’s at least just as good as the previous roles she brought to life on the big screen. But enough about her acting – you know I can carry on the movie – talk far and well! Let’s see those magazines she’s in! Marie Claire South Africa January 2013 and Vanity Fair US February 2013. (hit the jump for more visual awesomeness!)
Anne Vyalitsyna doesn’t seem affected by her high profile split from her singer ex – boyfriend (who had since moved on with another model. Or two). Anne keeps doing her model job even better than before.
Maybe skipping Victoria’s Secret was a good idea after all (she didn’t do this year’s VS show, did she?) now look at her doing Harper’s Bazaar Turkey January 2013 and Harper’s Bazaar Brazil December 2012. Not the highest ranked fashion magazines out there, but still fashion magazines covers nevertheless. So let’s take a closer look and see what kind of model material is Anne V built of! (hit the jump for more, click here for the gallery!)
You know when I thought Kristen Stewart wasn’t worthy of all the praise and highlight cast upon her from the Hollywood crowd (and more)? I’m throwing all that out the window! Kristen is growing into a fine young lady, it would appear; although I plan on seeing her interpretation of Snow White this week, Vanity Fair’s cover story with Kristen tries to convince me that she can be quite the princess.
Photographed by Mario Testino for Vanity Fair‘s July 2012 issue, Kristen gets to wear all kinds of couture wonders all in answering the interview’s questions with her notorious rebel attitude. (the story continues right after the jump, click here for the gallery!)
There’s this little hotel in Paris called Hotel 3 Rooms located in the 4th Arrondissement, 5 Rue de Moussy to be more specific which wouldn’t have made its way here without some significant fashion revamping. The reputed designer Azzedine Alaia is responsible for the concept and the decoration of the three suites (a total of 300sqm) – even the food is prepared and served from his private kitchen, located an arm stretch away from the said hotel.
Aside from it being designed by Azzedine Alaia, I can’t put my finger on something really impressive when looking at these interiors. Sure, the couch has the wow – factor to the max, the furniture is under the minimal sign, young designers and vintage go together hand in hand. But… where’s the coziness of it all? Do fashion people live in such soul-less, desert environments? (be sure to check the rest of the images after the jump for a better understanding of Azzedine Alaia’s interior decoration attitude)
Since I like to keep my reading diverse and keep an eye out for everything and anything happening around, I found this really interesting piece about not just a closet, but a wardrobe! A Minimal Wardrobe!
I hope you’ll watch the video as it’s really short and very interesting and I also hope you’ll share your thoughts and feelings about the concept. Béa Johnson came to me by means of “zero – waste” living style than through her art. Though she’s an accomplished and acclaimed artist, I want to highlight another side of Béa. At least today: her zero – waste lifestyle. And more specifically, her zero – waste closet. What does that mean exactly? It means a basic wardrobe. Minimal style at its core.
Is it just me, or Swatch is working hard on revamping and injecting more glam into their collections? Like they were growing up fashionably?
Take a look at their latest collaboration, with Jeremy Scott, and tell me what you think of that! Jeremy Scott has five styles ready for the occasion: Melted Minutes, Swatch Portrait, Swatch Punk, Double Vision and Hypnotic Heart. While you may want to sit and reconsider your attitude towards Swatch, think also that this Jeremy Scott watches collection for Swatch is a limited one – count 777 Jeremy Scott (S)Watches! Also – where’s the winged wristwatch?
We live in fast times, it’s more than obvious! Stefano Pilati thought it would be a nice way to highlight that (maybe?) in Yves Saint Laurent’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign.
Raquel Zimmerman is starring in the video ad campaign and she’s showcasing no less than 14 looks in a very short time (close to 40 seconds). It’s a nice attitude, although head spinning, but it makes you want for more, doesn’t it? More time and more clothes. Clever campaign authored by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
