So everybody’s gearing up for heavy fashion issues once September magazines arrive. Vogue Germany September 2012 cover makes is hard to understand where the fashion is… While looking like a carbon copy of Vogue US, putting Salma Hayek on the cover only makes us think of her famous husband.
Because, you know, Salma Hayek’s husband is the CEO of PPR (mother company of Gucci, Stella McCartney, AlexanderMcQueen, YSL, Bottega Veneta and so many others) and, coincidentally, I’m certain, she’s wearing a midnight blue sequined Gucci dress on the cover. I know, I know, it looks black on our end (that’s how much they twisted and turned the darn photo in Photoshop!) but I can assure you it’s midnight blue with black ornaments – how do I know? Well, simply because Salma wore it before! At a Cannes dinnerback in May, as you’ll see after the jump!
Feeling the heat already? The golden girls (yes, you can take it as a reference to the Olympics Closing Ceremonies as well) of Vogue Paris. Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone take the September 2012 covers of the magazine (you can see larger images, after the jump) as photographed by Mert and Marcus.

It finally happened! Lady Gaga on the cover of Vogue’s September 2012 issue! Her Marc Jacobs purple dress sums up the very essence of her (stage) personality: patched up – stitched up into an aesthetically pleasing although raucous and edgy shape with a little help from Mert and Marcus.
Her hair is made to measure the dress, an exaggerated fame aura that looks cut out from some cartoon rather than real life. Maybe because Gaga is about pushing the boundaries of real life comfort? But don’t you worry, it’s just a cover, once you get past that, it’s the same old, same old (Fall fashion, hair trends, models, designers and so forth).
Today, while browsing the interwebs looking for something Olympics – related (because, you know, it’ll be over soon), I found the most fash – interesting piece over at the Frockwriter (where there’s always something nice to read).
What was it about? Well the Russian Olympics synchro swimmers costumes! Needless to say, synchro swimming is all around spectacular, without making it about fashion. However! The Russian team had these pretty doll faces prints on their swimsuits.

There wasn’t one word, one photo depicting Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford’s wedding ceremony (at least none that I came across), despite of my curiosity of seeing her big day wellies (remember she famously wore rubber boots with her wedding dress). Anyway, I’m happy to see that she’s happy, the picture here is one of those marital bliss moments we hope they’ll share all their life together!
Now that her Carrie Bradshaw place has been taken by a much younger actress, Sarah Jessica Parker is moving up to Vogue editor. For Glee. And for the occasion, SJP gets coached by none the other but the real – life editor of Vogue US, Anna Wintour! And that the mighty Wintour is picking out the outfits for SJP! Caroline reportedly dug deep within Kafka’s “Die Verwandlug”, a novel in which a man transforms into a bug, and concluded that kids clothing also can illustrate bug metamorphosis. If you’re looking for a fashion forward Halloween costume, Caroline Bosmans’ Franzzz is what you need!

I get such a déjà vu feeling! Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks… who am I to judge? They’re both rapping their way to fame. And doing some fashion along the way too.
(don’t get this: in order to be hype and really show your value on the market, you have to get serious with somebody in the fashion industry? And even if that’s the case: why not sticking with them – designer or artist – all the way? Really creating something, a style. A fashion direction?) So Azealia Banks is the latest to represent for Alexander Wang. (she was Jason’s date at the Met Ball 2012, so it’s no surprise after all). Joining previous artists who were the face of Wang’s label in the past: Santigold, Spank Rock, Die Antwoord.
