Until this Casio came along! The Bape Casio G-Shock DW-6900 wristwatch could look as cheap as possible to everyone but know that it’s encrusted in gold! And the G-Shock iconic logo is unbelievably rainbow colored. And tacky. And cheap. So cheap. Too cheap. How is that humanly possible?(why doesn’t he just stick to his music making pure genius?) The only downside is that it’s for men. The triple wrap looks lovely vintage, army inspired and highly stylish (priced at $595). It was first seen on Spring Summer 2009 men catwalk; on a closer inspection, the antique gold-plating case with luminova hands and numbers is water resistant up to 3atm/30m. Omega cooperated with the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation to use JFK in the promotional materials for Omega Speedmaster because it seems they have a history together: JFK wore an Omega timepiece to the inauguration and two of the Mercury program astronauts equally wore Omega Speedmasters.

But also, this new Speedmaster edition marks the 40th anniversary of landing on the moon (while wearing an Omega watch). How influential this new campaign can be? Both numbers and ethics? (via)

So yes, it’s 100% Rolex from the 2009 collection called Datejust 36mm. Available in eight models with four floral variations, mother of pearl and two wave dials, Rolex Datejust 36mm is encrusted with diamonds. (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures)

The new feminine series has an officially certified Chronometer, has a power reserve of 48 hours and it’s 100m (330ft) waterproof. The two bracelets available are Oyster bracelet (with an Oysterclasp) or Jubilee (with a Crownclasp).

I’m unsure how the 52 brilliant-cut diamonds bezel set helps the overall look of this new Rolex series, but I’m convinced it doesn’t enhance the watches functions.

The most discrete design is the mother-or-pearl dial but even so they had to stud-in some diamonds to bright up your every hour. I’m sure this new Rolex Datejust 36mm has the Paris Hilton seal of bling-approval! Now I’m looking at this …. piece for two days already and I haven’t the slightest idea how to react. No doubt there was a lot of work involved (1,300 hours of gem-setting), it looks incredible, but it’s too green and blingy to attract me. It’s like wearing a piece of the enchanted wood on my wrist and even if it sounds beautiful, I still get the creeps. The ivy leaves are made of gold and tendrils too. The gems (tsavorites, yellow sapphires, emeralds yellow diamond) add to the beauty and cost of this piece. Because if you thought you could try it on and see if you get the same creeps as I did, think again – the enchanted wood on your wrist costs $4,3 million. There’s not just the watch in that money – there’s also a ring, a bracelet and a necklace. How does it look to you (price aside)? Besides her scared deer look, forced pose and unnatural arm position, if I buy that watch and see that it’s not glowing like the one from this ad print, I’d feel betrayed. What kind of clients are targeted by this kind of advertising campaign? Women looking like Gisele? Women wanting to look like Gisele? Men wanting their women to look like Gisele? Men loving Gisele’s looks? I’m puzzled. Help me out here! What would it be?

So for this amount, you get alligator skin and diamonds. No gold. Like a regular fast-fashion store collaboration with a haute-designer – you get the name, the signature, a surrogate look and that’s about it.

And the hope that maybe one day you’ll get to have an entire wardrobe with the authentic signature, no intermediates. Until then, it’s Cavalli Time to be bought.
