Now if you want to still look feminine while riding a bike around town, you could try wearing a skirt. But I have my money set on Candice’s jumpsuit – it looks way more comfortable and feminine through and through. Fashion professionals, industry insiders, brilliant Jane Does and stylish Joe Does always dressed like the sidewalk was their catwalk. The Testinos and the Leibovitz of street fashion photography hunt their pray and catch every detail, every movement of their subjects in pictures they’re releasing onto the fashinternet waves to the delight of the avid followers. One of those perfectly stylish, absolutely fashionable individual who gets photographed season after season is Kate Lanphear who’s position at Elle (styling director, btw) is less known than her white short mane.

While praising the way the clothes are worn, Kate Lanphear doesn’t really like to ride the street fashion photography fame wave (we’ll trust that mission to AdR who puts on an entire circus for the street fashion photographers). Her street fashion experience isn’t her favorite part of the day, most definitely (there’s a very interesting interview with Kate Lanphear here)

Getting your pictured snapped by the fashpaparazzi is now an honor many of the stylish souls out there long for. And not in vain, for the fashhordes are holding their breath for the next Street Style Photo – post! Cutting to the chase – you have to follow few key elements to get your gorgeous self in one of them Street Styles Blogs! Click through to get the how – to!

Wear colors or all black. Big (sun) glasses, big hats, don’t let the others see your face! Wear heels and strange shoes. Wear dubious prints together. Wear something for the wrong season (sandals in winter or boots in summer). Wear one of the season’s key elements, in short wear something shocking.

If you’re attending the Fashion Week shows: watch your attitude! Phone to your ear, walk fast with an invitation in your hand; wave for a taxi like you were dancing, arrange for the taxi driver to stop on the other side of the street, don’t arrive in the same time as a prominent fashfigure (or, on the contrary, stick to them, so you’ll be in the picture too). Also if nothing seems to work, you can bring a handful of friends with big cameras trying to snap your picture while you’re playing hard to get. Others will soon arrive like bees thriving for honey.

Now if you got yourself snapped, it’s time to pretend: pretend you don’t know English (or any other international language); pretend you’re wearing vintage even if it’s H & M and pretend you don’t want to see the photo! How To Get Photographed By Street Style Photographers

Now with all things street style, I’m trying to squeeze in the new version of hippie. The modern hippie, it seems has little to do with the old age, original hippies. Except for the florals and bright colors, maybe. However, it’s nice to know that there’s a name for this kind of salad outfit! (that doesn’t stop you from casting your vote right after the image!)

The New Hippie Style

However, I admit I may not be jumping into it too soon. I just discovered the most amazing simple yet oh so very chic outfit for cold weather. A seriously oversized chunky knitted sweater, black, paired with black skinny pants (above the ankle), leopard print flats and a black hat. And a fire red patent leather Chanel bag. And the gorgeous girl who’s wearing all that? Anja Rubik, one of my favorite models out there!

Chunky Sweater, Skinny Pants. Perfection

It’a magical thing to watch and I’m looking forward to. It puts all those street style photographers cum bloggers to shame and rightfully so since he was the one photographing for decades NY Times Style’s On The Streets, Evening Hours. The magic man behind the camera, turns out, is a dedicated, passionate fashion person with an incredibly gifted eye for color and style. Thank you, Bill Cunningham, for being there!
