Now if you want to still look feminine while riding a bike around town, you could try wearing a skirt. But I have my money set on Candice’s jumpsuit – it looks way more comfortable and feminine through and through. Masterfully executed by Annie Leibovitz, the photo of Hope Solo and Serena Williams flanking Ryan Lochte lacks salt and pepper. So many things work against this cover: from the cliché beach picture we’ve seen Annie doing in the past to the draped beige – ish swimsuits (it occurred to me that these should make us think of golden medals – should they?)

This is not Miuccia’s first foray into the world of sports as Prada is known for its association with America’s sailing Cup. It may have something to do with Patrizio Bertelli’s passion for sailing? (Patrizio is Miuccia’s husband and Prada CEO).

Now for a personal curiosity moment: when it comes to putting together your fit – wardrobe, do you favor designer sportswear or traditional, professional sports attire labels? I’ve always been in a serious dilemma when it comes to sport shoes & clothing; although I’d love me some fashionable, designer sneakers (just an example), I tend to choose more traditional sport attire labels (say.. New Balance? Just a random example, again) because I’m afraid designer products only offer the looks and not the science.

And because the dust has somewhat settled on that campaign, Equinox is reclaiming his place in the spotlight with a new question: Are You Skinny Fat? While the slogan can appear as slightly illogical, they figured out a way to forcefeed logic into it: by measuring the fat percentage in the global body mass. Otherwise known as “normal weight obesity”. Sounds catchy, huh? Means that not only should you worry about the numbers when it comes to your weight. But also about the quality of that particular weight.

Now: it may be too early for me to think about skinny fat, and surely a high end fitness center won’t make me reconsider the way I look at my body fat. What they want to sell, in the end, is basically the same thing: eat healthy and train regularly. There’s no revolution there. (however, if you want to know more about Equinox and their Skinny Fat thingie, head on here. Their website is full of healthy wisdom. yawn! Now excuse me while I go flex my muscles and scoop out the chocolate from that pantry top shelf – this skinny fat thing’s got me confused, I need my sugar levels back to think straight).

First of all, Krav Maga is the new kickboxing. It’s a self defense system originated and perfected in Israel (and currently used by the Israeli Defense Forces) which literally means “hand – to – hand combat”. Krav Maga was brought to the US in the early 80s as the FBI expressed high interest in the Israeli self defense technique.

Now what’s that got to do with fashion? Well, one must assume that in our not – yet – perfect society, women’s hobbies count self defense techniques. And since women are not always wearing their sneakers and tracksuits in order to make kickboxing a living reality, they must know how to defend themselves even when wearing high heels and really precious couture garments. New Balance Road To London is a collection – you guessed it right – inspired and dedicated to the 2012 Olympic Games. The iconic 420 and 574 with an Union Jack makeover; an important detail – both models are said to be handmade in a Flimby factory (the home of New Balance, situated along England’s North West coast) which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year! I love the new sneakers! I’d take the “Road to London” any day! Would you?

Because, as everyone knows, Super Bowl is all about men and cars. Oh, and football, yes! It appears that the ad follows a guy’s dream in which he’s driving a Kia Optima, listening to Mötley Crüe’s Kickstart My Heart. Somewhere in that dream there’s Adriana Lima and martial arts fighter Chuck Liddell – and I’m sure everything makes perfect sense! 60 seconds of rock, fights, beautiful women and cars. ahem Kia. (if we’re to believe earlier reports, this ad would cost Kia a whopping $7Million! Whoa!
