The Sequin Boxer Short. If you’ve been through at least three stores lately, then you know that sequined shorts are in! Big time! Like there’s no party without a sequined short! And you know what? I’m ok with that because I lik’em too! It’s like a pimped up version of those short jeans we’re seeing everywhere during the hot summer time! Now – from loving them to wearing them… I don’t know! The Perfect Black Evening Dress Of The Holidays Season! Of Any Season!

I’m always for the dress down, but every now and then, I have to trade my comfy jeans & converse (or biker boots, it’s a question of season) for a dress and high heels. And, although you may think different, I love the dress situation! Take these two beauties here: one of them (the one with the sparkling embroidery) is alarmingly similar to one of the dresses I wore for my wedding. I guess you can technically call it “wedding dress”, even if it’s more unconventional.

So I guess that says a lot about me? About how I stick to a particular style throughout the years? That’s good, isn’t it? How about you? And yes, it comes from the Free People! It involves an impossibly cute, rocking ruffled mesh skirt, a waist length leather jacket, some to – die – for leggings and some of the cutest mary jane platforms around with crocheted detailing (wait, did I just said cute twice in the same phrase? Pardon me, but this is too cute to call it otherwise! Isn’t it?) All I can think of whenever I look at this outfit, is “Dace, baby, dance!”. How about you? What I’d need is a simple piece to spice it all up, to add the glamour and the glitz an evening out needs. But without overdoing it and going all red carpet just to grab a nice medium rare stake and a late night movie. So, to make it special but not too much, this is what I’d need. Maybe you too? It’s a sequined button down shirt, lovely in my opinion (and would’ve been just perfect if it wouldn’t have been waist long but long enough to be tucked into my skinny jeans – or any other jeans I’d be wearing).

Also – the look was styled by Emmanuelle Alt, makeup by Aaron de Mey and hair by Recine. It’s laid back, casual, skinny and… you know, very Emmanuelle: skinny jeans, straight hair down on the shoulders. Oh – sigh – and the sweater? I think this must be my equivalent for that D & G strapless dress I loved so much! What’s your outerwear of choice when it gets cold outside?

I ran across a sweet, sweet thing today, while I was doing my rounds and, yes, here it goes: looks from Kate Spade’s Spring Summer 2012 collection! Girly, joyful and absolute must – have’s, the pieces from Kate Spade’s collection made me smile. I mean – how can you not smile when you read something like this: Eat Cake for Breakfast! Oh, and – I went for an orange-y outfit? To match the imminent Halloween celebration? (wink) How do you like it? Doesn’t it make you smile? (okay, so I chose a stripey one too, but who’s counting?)

So I was thinking that this would be a good moment to introduce a special outfit, a party outfit which would be perfect for a Christmas celebration. Or any other celebration. The thing is, it’s not an easy color to wear, especially in a suit shape! Tom Ford’s scarlet velvet suit is heartbreakingly beautiful! I’m not sure I’d wear it with something lace-y underneath (I think the suit is sensual enough without tacky-ing it with black lace, although this was Tom Ford‘s styling idea), what I’m sure of, however, is that I would definitely love to wear this red beauty!

Wouldn’t you? (what would you pair it with? I’d go for black sky high stilettos, I’d button it up, wearing only my skin underneath that gorgeous red tux. Mkay, maybe a bra? But not a push up or anything. A black, see through bra like the one after the jump. Oh, and I’d belt it with a skinny black belt! Now it’s on you!)

Suit Up! Christmas Must Have Party Outfit!

And celebrating too! Since we haven’t done this in a while, why not celebrate? Put together two outfits instead of one? Here I go – since we talked about BHLDN a week or two ago and we agreed upon loving Anthropologie, here’s a lil’ Anthropologie exclusive! (just to be clear on something – Anthropologie doesn’t have the slightest idea who I am and what I cooked today! – wink – ). Come on, click through to discover the goodies! Basically, the two choices are color coordinated and suited for every day occasions, office dreary Monday days (or any other day). Classic outfits with a twists, that’s how I love them! Let’s get down to the pieces: For I am a pants chica at heart, I’ll start with the pants situation: from bottom up. The lacebark booties with flowery embroidery – loving their coziness and quirkiness!

Next up: the High IQ Corduroys in brown (they say. To me they look a bit auburny… What do you think?). The softness and the vintage-y feeling of these wide – leg pants take fall styling to a complete new level. It’s the comfort zone of your wardrobe! And you want comfort in a Monday outfit. Don’t you? (you can also belt the pants with, par exemple, the Triple Bar Belt in green). Let’s check out the top! The Tarpan Buttondown in red motif is such a great addition to a simple, classic outfit! Take a closer look and you’ll see why: the red motif? it’s a handful of mice scattered across the otherwise plain, common shirt! Aren’t they something?

The finishing touch is the Frozen City Gilet! Truly a piece of the season, the fake fur vest is comfy, is fashionable and well… it matches the rest of the look! Now if you really want a bag, you can try something in the vicinity of the Daily Rounds Satchel – something neutral, practical. Something that won’t pop out.

Let’s detail the dress situation: Ciselled Wedges. Where comfort and edgy fashion meet, it’s where you want to be! These shoes compliment the rest of the outfit, but don’t completely immerse in it. They stand out. And that’s good for what follows: the Ihrin Shirtdress in purple – I love the simplicity and the effectiveness of a shirt dress! It’s timeless, flattering on almost any type of silhouette and absolutely suited for running errands across town or a classy office day! But then again, you can leave as it is, it’s perfectly charming!)

To complete the dress situation – a Pansy Corset Trench! I LOVE that trench coat! It’s so girly, so sweet!
