Ridley Scott (Prometheus’ director, also known for Alien and Blade Runner among others) has a flair for choosing his lady characters wisely! Noomi was photographed in a tank of water, where, they say, she held her breath for minutes and the Photoshop team didn’t even have to retouch the air bubbles simply because there were none to retouch – Noomi looks perfect. I’m sure this New York Times Magazine cover could stir the envy of a mermaid!

However, if we just step back and look at the ensemble, everything would be so much clearer: Vogue Netherlands‘ first issue ever was an all white backdrop and three gorgeous Dutch models. Vogue Netherland’s second issue was an up close portrait of Lara Stone, again, against an all white background. Now it’s Guinevere Van Seenus, looking all sorts of lovely and summery, white background and all, but it feels like Vogue Paris? Oh, come on? Seriously?

Now I understand why: Anja is (re) launching 25 Magazine in Cannes. What’s that got to do with the above mentioned uncle Terry? Well, you see, 25 Magazine isn’t your ordinary fashion magazine! It’s a 300 – pages collection of visual goodies with explicit content.

(Anja is already in Cannes, above attending the Chopard Mystery Party, yesterday, so I’m thinking she’s ready for today’s big 25 launch.) Including pictures taken by women photographers only (the likes of Annie Leibovitz or Ellen von Unwerth), 25 Magazine is “mainly a fashion magazine but with an erotic twist”, as described by Anja herself. If you take a look at the teaser below, you’ll get 25’s idea of fashion! (is that David Gandy, with Abbey Lee?)

The Sartorialist in GQ. Not photographing for them, but being interviewed by GQ. Growing distant from his original “street style photographer” status, the much esteemed mr. Schuman was (somewhat) crayoned for GQ in a very moving manner, one that put him on a glowing pedestal, a galaxy away from his blogging origins.

Without much success though – its author touched me deeply in the most unexpected way – I felt like reading through one of my boys’ school papers. An essay brushing the Sartorialist in every direction. On the fifth (and last) page he was so shiny and slick from all that brushing and polishing that my appetite took the rest of the day off.

Photographed by Craig McDean and styled by Tabitha Simmons, Arizona is on the move, wearing sneakers and looking stylish from tip to toes. You have so many models to choose from: sleek Celine pony hair flat slip ons ($720); Chanel calfskin knicks ($795); Maison Margiela leather sneakers ($795), the all too coveted Isabel Marant wedge sneakers ($750) or the more affordable wedge See by Chloe leather sneakers ($395) and Nike Liberty Collection sneakers ($130).

In a very fash – athletic pictorial, Vogue tries to convince us that wearing sneakers is a stylish gesture, if done right. And if I was really into the Isabel Marant wedge sneakers until now, I realized that there are so many options and there’s no need to close the possibilities drawer and make an unnatural fixation on Isabel Marant.

That is, of course, if someone can really convince me to leave my Converse behind (wink)!

A generation who wouldn’t understand the meaning and purpose of singing to convince squirrels to dust a house or biting into an apple, chocking, sleeping for a hundred years. At least not as long as leather, latex or some supernatural powers aren’t involved! (just kidding, I didn’t actually see the new Snow White, I’m just speculating after seeing this picture from June’s Elle magazine issue)

Because no matter how much I push myself into various workout sessions, Gisele Bundchen still puts me to shame! She’s doing a perfect bridge for Vogue Paris! Beat that! Fashion magazine, huh? Next you know, they’ll be showing us how to take a Latino dance class wearing some high risk spiked Rodarte heels. I don’t know about you, but for those who were wondering where’s Vogue Paris’ Olympic themed issue, take a closer look at this issue’s Inez and Vinoodh spread with Gisele!

But, as she said, after being Lisbeth for a year and a half, Noomi had enough of her character and just wanted to get out of her skin. Totally understandable. After starring in Sherlock Holmes, Noomi Rapace is heading for our big screens (and movie loving hearts) once more, with Prometheus. Noomi Rapace Is Prometheus Ready In Dazed And Confused June 2012

Although it has an odd Pirelli – like vibe (Terry Richardson did a calendar for Pirelli, in 2010; Kate Moss was in this year’s Pirelli calendar, this year, however, photographed by Mario Sorrenti), I have to celebrate something really important: Harper’s Bazaar dragged Uncle Terry out of the promiscuous comfort of his studio out in the wild, wild nature. Where Kate Moss makes pretty much the same faces and poses in pretty much the same positions. (don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself in the gallery, here)

But that’s not Kate’s fault, is it? The back pose and the front w / hat look like Terry’s new obsession. At least as far as this shooting goes. Now: how am I doing? Did I successfully re – channeled all that subjectivity and negativity I used to manifest towards anything – Uncle Terry? There’s so much working against this cover, I’ll try to pick just a few reasons to pass it: the hair – there is such a thing as too eighties! Natalia’s face expression: why so sad and indifferent, Natalia? The yellow shorts: not. even. worth. mentioning! Whoever styled and approved of this, better have something really good inside, otherwise tons of magazines will end up in some basement somewhere. In the dark. Where nobody can see this cover!
