Long story short (wink): there’s this amazing character in Pixar’s Cars movies: Mater. Mater is aaaah-dorable! He’s a rusty toe truck with a heart of gold who loves his friends and his memories! As such, he was very offended when someone offered to “fix” him: straighten up his scratched, heavily bent, rusty doors (or something). Why? Well, because every scratch is there to remind him of the good times he had with his friends. And he loves each and every friend, and each and every scratch and rust spot!

I’m guessing the people from Madame Figaro never took time from their fashion busy schedule to watch Cars. Otherwise they would’ve never performed such heavy retouching and skin smoothing on lovely Kate Moss who was photographed for their January 27th issue! My God! Her skin is smoother than my 4-year-old daughter’s! Please stop insulting our intelligence with these scandalously modified images!

Victoria Beckham as photographed by Josh Olins on the cover of i – D magazine “Whatever the weather” issue no 317, Pre Spring 2012 is a refreshingly fashionable yet effortlessly catchy sight (this issue counts nine covers in total, see after the jump). The inside pictorial seems to follow that same idea as I could see from the i – D preview. While Victoria herself shares some thoughts about her fashion line and, biensur, her adorable baby Harper! Mario Testino’s pictures of Lana from the inside pictorial caught the essence of Lana Del Rey way better than the cover photo (check them out after the jump). It’s like they were from two different photo sessions. It’s a mediocre Vogue, so, hopefully, for those who’ll buy the print magazine, the inside content will prove way more interesting than the cover!

Vogue aside, how do you feel about Lana’s music? (I’m loving her self described style: “gangsta Nancy Sinatra” – she’s the very product of today’s fashion web – styled generation!)

All virginal, bridal white Blake Lively has some serious competition to the “win – your – heart – via – the big – screen” game: Rooney Mara. Think about it! Rooney, however, is playing for the “dark side”, being dressed in dark colors, wearing her dark hair and her pale complexion from Red Carpet event to red carpet event. Still think it’s not a competition? How about if you knew that Blake was part of Soderbergh’s next movie project but from one week to the other she was replaced by Rooney Mara?

The inside pictorial was styled by Jillian Davison and Christine Centenera, her hair was done by Teddy Charles and the makeup was executed by Mickael Noiselet. She’s even wearing that Prada bodysuit we’ve seen Daria in on the cover of Vogue Paris. Did you know it was $8,900 (if they’re talking Australian Dollars, which I imagine they are, then count $10,257 US Dollars at the current rate exchange)? There’s a cheaper body, also by Prada, also in Jessica’s Harper’s pictorial – the green one – $6,900 – $7,200, US price! I loved the Chanel dress! (notice the $12,550 price tag: $13,137 US)

Anyway, there’s no word on the photographer yet and no other picture has surfaced so far. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the inside to be even better than the cover. (which, if I want to put my fashionista eyeglasses on, looks really cheesy and kitsch. But that doesn’t hurt every now and then, does it? Cheesy and kitsch? especially with a high profile celebrity)
