Passionata Spring Summer 2012 with Bar Refaeli is one of those enchanting campaigns you just love staring at. Even if you’re not a man. Because Bar is lovely, the lingerie is exquisite, and the pictures are playful, sunny and joyful (although based in the studio and not under the sunny skies). Passionata is a French feminine lingerie brand, part of the Chantelle Group (which is also parent to Chantal Thomass and Chantelle among others). Bar has been working with Passionata for a few seasons now and they seem to enjoy a nice marketing relationship as she keeps coming back for more. We’re not complaining. Are we? The very lovely Bar Refaeli, however, was doing something pretty different and honorable: promoting her very own range of lingerie! Under.me is the name of the brand and Bar is said to have designed the undergarments herself, saying that the underwear should help and compliment the body, not “steal the show” – I’m all for! (there’s not much information available, though, only an under – construction website you can visit here and a Facebook page here) I think it’s a great under – idea, Michael Bay sure won’t approve of it, but normal women most certainly would! (wouldn’t you?)

Manhattan’s 34th street is enjoying a special mural add-on: a painted replica of David Beckham’s H & M Bodywear Ad Campaign photo. Which, conveniently, doesn’t include t-shirts or any other clothing item other than a pair of white trunks. Which costs $14.95. Notice the price tag placement, as well as the H & M tag. Why would that be ?… (wink)

And because, let’s not forget, it’s the Super Bowl, there’ll be a testosterone overcharge surrounding the stadium and the TV sets at home, the good H & M people played Animals’ “Please don’t let me be misunderstood”. Yeah, so before I sound (too) weird, let me tell you how it actually went down: we had to run some errands, sign this and that and then we had lunch and… well, went to see a movie (we’ll get back to that later) and then scooped for some clothes for our eldest boy (who’s stick thin and growing like out of water) and I (blushing) finally got to try some bras I was eyeing for a while and now were on sale. Which brings us to the current topic: do you know how to pick a bra? I don’t think I know anymore… (check out the rest of the story right after the jump!)

I grew up being a B. Sometimes a C. Which is huge, for an otherwise lean structured body. Now something you hear a lot: being pregnant and heavily breastfeeding my babies (all four of them), I’m left with… an A, I think. Or to put it nicely: I have the breasts of a teenager! Who’s lucky, because she knows that she’s growing out her breasts. While me.. well. Moving on.

So – being the waif that I am, I absolutely wanted to cut out wires. Underwired bras have this nasty way of sticking into my skin, between the wires and my bones, there’s just this thin, sensitive layer of skin. I don’t like the feeling of underwired bras piercing through it. At all. So: no wires! As you’ll see, I wanted something really specific. I also wanted to give up padding. Push-up? Begone! Heavily lined bras? Out of my way! I’m a grown woman and I feel comfortable in my own skin – hence I wanted what they call a wireless, unlined, “triangle bra” – see what I mean by that below.

Long story short: I tried two (triangle) bras. I was horrified. Not only they didn’t fit, but it was worse than I could ever anticipate – the bras I wanted didn’t fit, the bras that could fit me, didn’t interest me. Did you ever feel that? What was the best solution you found?

Now, here’s something about bras and finding the right one: did you know that bras, worn by rotation, could last you up to one year, tops? And that, in order to care for your bras in the best possible way, you’ll have to wash them by hand? Yeah, but how do I know that my bra is the best possible bra for my constitution? Eaaaasy!

Stop buying bras just because the label reads that they’re your size! Bras sizes vary from one label to another, from one model to another! The only way to know a bra is the right bra for you is to try it on! The tighter, the better! You’d have to be able to run just one finger under the bra’s band. If the band is the right size but you’re spilling out of your bra, up the cup size! Remember: shoulder straps should only support 10% of your breast weight! So you shouldn’t have shoulder strap marks! Unless… you’re not having the right bra size! How about you: do you have any bra fitting secrets to share? (the bras included here came from: 1, 2, 3)

The ads focus on her and her alluring ways more than on the brand itself – I haven’t seen any brand tag in any of the pictures – have you? And although they were passed on as fashion pictures, these could get some marketing departments in trouble if they land in the wrong spot (genre – next to a toy store). As far as I’m concerned, Rihanna’s appeal makes Megan Fox look like a genuine ice block.

The concept evolves on three coordinates: Calvin Klein Confident, Calvin Klein Strong and Calvin Klein Sexy. All three videos are the team work of Calvin Klein’s team and stylist’s Annabel Tollman (who guides us through all three videos). My favorite of them all is, of course, “confident”. It’s true we’ve seen him do it before, for Armani, but I’m sure women worldwide don’t mind seeing him at it again! Just in time for Valentine’s Day 2012! So the details: David Beckham’s bodywear collection for H&M is a lucrative team embarked for a long trip. The first stop is this February, in 1,800 stores worldwide. Hopefully, if the customers are buying the new line, women (and more) around the world will see more of David Beckham sans clothes in H&M’s future ad campaigns! Happy? Sad? Indifferent? So, my daaahlings, newsflash: You’re Beautiful, Just the Way You Are! Time to go underwear shopping! (wink) Did you know that Kate Moss was the spokesbody for Valisere Lingerie? (it’s a Triumph brand, hailing from France’s Val D’Isere region – hence the name) She’s looking great, as always! (you know those days when I was complaining that Kate Moss was everywhere?
