umm.. I propose that, for the next tabloid cover, Angelina dramatically throws the ring on the Red Carpet at a movie premiere somewhere, and that, Jennifer Aniston, who was casually passing by, picks it up and goes on to marry whoever she wants with another ring designed by Brad Pitt!

I wear a single pair of earrings. Small silver studs. I dream of replacing them with pearls studs one day. One day. Until that day, I enjoy wearing hoops for special days / nights out. Hoops are my favorite fun – earrings. Especially during the summer. Now – back to why I started this in the first place – I had this crazy idea of going to Louis Vuitton’s jewelry site and see what they’re showing. And when I chose the “earrings” filter, the fourth pair was this amazingly beautiful Monogram Skin hoops in yellow gold with diamonds! (more details after the jump)

Part of the Monogram Skin collection, the yellow gold large hoops with four white diamonds are so delicate and feminine, that I’m willing to close my eyes at their $6,100 price tag and dream of wearing them. They do look spectacular, don’t they?

I’m puzzled! I was really fascinated with the Beastie Boys music when I was younger. There was this street – wisdom charm to their songs I couldn’t always relate to. But this? I couldn’t relate to even if I wanted to – Mercedes – Benz is behind some pretty awesome cars, I give you that, but wearing their emblem around my neck is taking appreciation one step too far. Towards lame. But what do I know? (more after the jump)

They say it’s the appreciation of an era. The 80s revival with a glam twist. I say it’s just a bad taste display of misplaced luxury affiliation. But the hipster crowd who showed up at this Opening night celebration of the Mercedes – Benz Transmission LA at the Audio – Visual Club surely thought differently. After all, one of the Beastie Boys was curating the event, he couldn’t possibly be wrong. Especially since in his young hipster & rebel 80s days, he used to carry a VW emblem around his neck, much like he did now with the Mercedes – Benz one. Contemporary art, really?

Phones started ringing, emails flew with supersonic speeds and confirmations arrived with even more saucy details about the said engagement ring. Comme d’habitude, Brad Pitt designed the ring for his beloved (he also designed the wedding rings for him and Jennifer Aniston at the time) with the jeweler Robert Procop.

It’s a huge diamond with “distinctive faceting to a shape and size that perfectly suits Angelina’s long, slender fingers” with a galaxy of smaller matching diamonds. Congrats to the happy family! (if it took them a year for the ring, I’m guessing three years for the wedding dress would be just about right. What say you?)

Check them out! It’s like they were made for girls! Tiny planes, wee dolls charms! I read somewhere that dressing up starts when you’re about five and it never really ends. Not even when you’re a full grown up. Consequently, I wouldn’t mind at all owning and playing with these sparkling beauties! Especially the airplane ring which really actually spins! Ha! I saw this bracelet weeks ago and I liked it so much, I saved the image. I’m not so good at wearing jewelry, you see, but I’m so darn good at looking at bracelets, earrings, necklaces (for instance – Rihanna was wearing a particular type of body chain for the 2012 Grammy Awards – I loved it!).

So this bracelet from Delfina Delettrez is made of pink, silver and vermeil fringes with fresh water pearls tips. Part of the “Swirls” collection, it was available chez Collette for $1,778. Swirls, indeed, huh? (after the jump, take a closer look at Delfina’s said collection)

Some of the pieces I saw were the kind “look but don’t wear” like the necklaces below or some weird – cool earrings. But there are some pretty fun looking rings in those collections, be sure to check out the gallery to see!

So it’s always good to know what hair goes with what type of earrings (and makeup) to make a good impression. Each and every time! One of my favorite earrings – the hoops. Big or small, they’re timeless. You can try something different from the usual Hispanic air with loose waves and an off – center part, carefully braided back like in the image below for a bohemian look. Pretty much the same hairdo goes for chandeliers earrings: you can even forget the braid and simply tuck your hair behind your ears. But chandeliers earrings (much like the beloved hoops) also go with pulling your hair up in a chignon or a messy ponytail.

Small earrings like the studs and the stones can only be put in the right light by pulling your hair up. Think ponytails, buns, twists, braids, anything to show them. And if you choose a lipstick that matches the color of the stones, it’s even better! (Oh, and in case you were wondering, no, you’re not seeing double, it is Kate Bosworth!)

Anyway, Tilda Swinton continues to represent for the Italian Jeweler Pomellato (after the jump, there’s Tilda’s 2011 campaign for Pomellato’s Nude – pretty. And I mean it! And that’s not an easy attribute to label Tilda with!). She even hosted a boutique opening for Pomellato’s Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills on Monday, January 30th. Pomellato’s new ad campaign is lovely, all kinds of artsy while the Nudo Rings are pure delight. Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, the said jewelry pieces are really versatile, all in being simple and eye catching enough to be statement accessories.

Now: there’s a fine line between hip and flop. Pale-ish, white-ish is the new color for evening wear, hence Tilda, who is a celebrated fashionista, was sporting the must wear color. All I want to know is didn’t anyone tell her she forgot to take her pajama off? It was an official event, after all!
