What do you do with your bad hair days? I typically disguise that with a headband, a scarf, bobby pins and hope it’ll go away the next day. (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)

But what if it doesn’t? Then what? Most of the days, my hair looks just like this model’s hair. When I look at her, I even envy myself! only now, my hair just ain’t like that anymore! And there’s worse: I only use professional hair care products. It’s a habit I picked up by going once a year to visit my hairstylist. Kerastase, Tigi that’s what you find in my beauty case. But now my hair doesn’t want to know about those hyper expensive, hyper hype products anymore. It’s dry and it’s curling on itself like suffering from some virtual tummy ache! Imagine that, my hair has indigestion! I tried “natural” remedies. Like beer and honey? And yolks? Nope. They don’t speak my hair’s language either!

My Ever-So-Adored Husband is completely laid back about this hair-situation. He said, much to my amazement, that twice a year I have these bad hair & nails weeks I turn to nuclear catastrophes and after a while it all goes back to normal. And I stop crying my hair out. Do you have bad hair seasons? Bad nails weeks? What do you do? I even thought about wearing cartoonish (you know, the ones for kids?) band aids on my fingertips, then I changed my mind cause my kids would want to wear them too and we’d turn into a fingertips band aid family. I even thought about wearing some white tape like Michael Jackson’s? Then it crossed my mind that I’ve got to learn the moonwalk to make a credible MJ fan to everyone who might wonder why I’m wearing those white bands on my fingertips.

So I’ll use presenting Anna Sui’s Haircare line as a pretext to ask you how do you choose your beauty/care products? Because this new Anna Sui line is using the catwalk backstage as speculation, saying that is has been tested and proven efficient there. (and yes, that is Agyness!) To my experience (and I’ve had long hair as long as I can remember it), quick fix products for hair are just as big fat lie as wonderbras. Because they can look good for few hours tops, but, eventually, the truth will come out! I know this could look harsh for delicate eyes, but if you read it in all honesty, you’ll see my point.

So many beauty/care products out there crochet a world of lies just to get some financial attention! And I don’t know if it’s just a legend or just another bag of fine crocheted marketing, but they say professional beauty/care products are the best and supermarket ones are just leftovers… I only swear on easy exterior-care, but I strongly believe that true and lasting beauty comes from inside. From every aspect of the “inside”! I don’t expect people who smoke (or worse) and breathe the heavy club air every night to have a flawless complexion or immaculate features (at least not endlessly) and I tend to preach healthy living as the miracle remedy to so many minor (beauty) flaws. But what did your experience teach you? How do you keep yourself as beautiful as you are? Which beauty lie convinced you to buy something that was really incoherent with the label/ad? (photos 1, 2)

From 1936 when hatmaker Auguste Michel founded his company to present days hats have never gone out of fashion. Wearing a headpiece is always a statement whether you choose to put on a simple headband or go with the full flavor hat, people will never fail to notice you. Have fun! Wear something beautiful to match your (already) gorgeous hair! (ok, maybe not the bush-piece on Angela Lindvall’s head, but nevertheless, even that could be useful in a camouflage mission!) Sourcing for inspiration in our very television culture, Jennifer Behr usually made easy-gossip girl headpieces only this time she thought a punk rock spin would be in order so behold the goth installment this Fall! (the story continues with more pictures right after the jump!)

I’m definitely in love with headbands. My curly, frizzy hair leaves me no other taming option than a chic hair piece to get through a bad hair day with my head up. I usually am my own stylist/designer, I make my own headbands using fabric leftovers or bow ties (oh, yes, did you know you could use velvet bow ties to make yourself the cutest and simplest headwrap ever?), hair accessories I don’t use anymore (colored bow pins that I attach to a simple head band) and so on. Now I admit I’m most puzzled by the goth turn of hair fashion!

For one I’m not easily turning to goth, no matter the fash-importance levels it’ll reach. And second: I can’t really see myself buckling the toddlers in their respective car seats while I’m wearing a studded headband! They get so easily tangled in my hair, I could hurt them with those spikes. But then again, it all looks so delicate and artfully put together chez Jennifer Behr, I could convince myself to give into temptation on one of those rare nights out me and my wonderful Husband magically share every now and then!

In the pro/cons column, the capital con is the price for Jennifer Behr’s headwraps. Being popular in the Hollywood ranks, instantly pumps the volume of the price tag. (the simplest studded headwrap costs $142 chez Jennifer Behr. Not easy to be a punk princess these days!) That plus the edgy feeling of this Fall 2009 Jennifer Behr head pieces collection put her beautiful pieces out of my reach. How about you? Are you (still) a headband girl? Now she’s back to her sand blond look with long, straight locks and magically no bangs showing! The virtue of hair extensions, Jessica Alba’s new haircut looks too fabricated for my taste.
