While Vera Wang Princess is already available in Department Stores (yep, it’s Coty, you can find it anywhere) there’s not much information available on the new campaign, but we do love to make a little bit of research on our own, right? While the ad allows you to travel in the dual world of a teenager (think Hannah Montana or Taylor Momsen), the perfume seems to be just as lasting as an ice-cream in the hot beach sand. Too bad about the fruity, vanilla, flower notes (aren’t they all, the “young” perfumes fruity, vanill-ish, flower-ish?) it just fades away too soon.

And if the after-effects would have kept a reasonable level, the ad print would have been just as lovely as Zoe. (via)

Not one to be shy about her shapes and her sensuality-driven self, Christina Aguilera seems to have found her path and she’s walking the happy walk of success. Though she seems as lucrative as the one and only Paris Hilton, Christina is a self made empire, and not a bad one, we might add! I’m not sure her perfume will ever hit my beauty case, but I like how she’s transforming her womanliness in her strength. So here comes the story behind the product, the beauty, fashion and style gossip we love so much! Who is 50 Cent and why would he launch a fragrance called “Power”? And what’s it smell like?

50 Cent aka Curtis Jackson came from the streets, like most hip hop and rap artists do and he integrated, just like the others, his “hood” life, his background, in his music. Of course he had some serious backup or he wouldn’t have made it so big just singing, like all others, about the hard ‘nock life. Eminem and Dr Dre produced his commercial success and enabled him to get larger than a simple rap artist: he even founded his record label G-Unit Records and also appeared in few movies, not to mention he branded his artist name and went commercial with it.

What makes fifty so special and why he got so notorious so fast? His legend surpassed him. He was shot nine times and made it (now don’t get me started on how good the shooter really was, however, being shot at very close range so many times and survive the incident is definitely something worth telling and speculating: he even has his own video game called 50 Cent: Bulletproof).

50 Cent stroke the winning chord and now he’s making it swing again with a fragrance called “Power”. With not very much left for the imagination, the fragrance aims at an immediate success appealing at those (who besides knowing and appreciating 50) want to feel the empowerment and the confidence that drove Curtis Jackson to becoming 50 Cent.

If you know anyone fitting the above profile, hurry up and get the perfume (why not with an autograph since you already have the schedule above)! The scent was described as masculine and strong with top notes of lemon leaves, black pepper and Artemisia, followed by dark woods, coriander and nutmeg plus patchouli, musk and oak moss. Made by the house of Firmenich and bottled in a recipient designed by Maesa, the first impression this Power by fifty cent should leave you with is strength and (what else?) power! If it wasn’t for the price tag, I would have modeled these cashmere beauties every day! However, paying $1,495 for a hoodie or $595 for a long sleeved tee, even with a Donna Karan label, still surpasses my means and objectives for a long time to come! I love the softness and warmth of the velour outfits for out and about comfy days so I treasure comfy-ness and sensual fabrics for when I’m not playing the killer game of high heels, edgy outfits. But as much as I’d love a piece from Donna Karan’s DK Cashmere Resort 2009 collection as represented here by Milla, the closest I’ll get to the luxurious comfort of these clothing pieces is the Cashmere Mist Luxe Edition perfume. It only costs $48 for the 1.0 OZ / 30 ml. Though after looking at the sharp edges and firm glass container, I still have my dreams set on a piece of the clothing collection… dream on, girl, dream on! Behold! We’re headed towards a Russian winter! (Hopefully not, since I heard they’re pretty harsh!) At least fashion wise! After Guerlain’s collection with and inspired by Natalia Vodianova, there goes Kenzo. Recreating the Kenzo Flower perfume in a New Year’s special Edition, hidden inside a Matryoshka. Though I wouldn’t normally expect to find a poppy when opening a Matryoshka Doll, this new Kenzo Flower edition looks pretty good and smells just like any Kenzo Flower should: beautifully flowerish and still very strong. Just like a poppy: you’d think it’s nothing, but then it’s everywhere! I’ve always been a big fan of Kenzo’s fragrances, still for those of you unfamiliar with Flower, it smells like: black and red currant, Bulgarian rose, violets from Parma, jasmine, vanilla and musk. Because intimacy has everything to do with marketing, this highly suggestive commercial as played by Kate Moss induces the new idea of rosephiles. If no such concept was made public yet, this should be the starting point.

Let me exemplify just why this commercial should be R-rated: leather outfits, the backseat of a limo, bed sheets, very high heeled shoes, explicit gestures and poses, a clothesless man lying on the bed while Kate puts on her sandals. Kate Moss relives the intimate moment she had just by touching herself with a rose. This commercial makes me think about Sofia Coppola’s Miss Dior Chérie commercial and ask myself why can’t we see more ads like that?

The song you’ll hear is signed by RoBERT (la chanteuse) and it was originally called Personne. But being selected for this Givenchy ad has brought a serious change for the song: both the title and the lyrics changed. Now it’s called Ange et Démon and the single will be available starting September 2. The Givenchy perfume ad will also be officially launched this September. So this is officially end of Uma’s Lancôme contract? (you can watch the original version of the song right after the jump)

I should, however, warn you: if you’re lighthearted after watching Givenchy’s ad, expect something totally different from this RoBERT Personne music song. Quite a surprising choice, now I completely agree and understand why the lyrics were changed!
