Tuesday, February 8th 2012, Anna Wintour, 20 American designers and a handful of models occupied Theory’s store in the Meatpacking district. She co – hosted the politics cum shopping event with Scarlett Johansson (who knew she was so involved?). It all sounds couture-ish and all kinds of amazing, but I don’t understand, for the life of me, why Joan Smalls and Karolina Kurkova, who are usually so stylish and so well dressed, showed up wearing these! Anyway, Tilda Swinton continues to represent for the Italian Jeweler Pomellato (after the jump, there’s Tilda’s 2011 campaign for Pomellato’s Nude – pretty. And I mean it! And that’s not an easy attribute to label Tilda with!). She even hosted a boutique opening for Pomellato’s Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills on Monday, January 30th. Pomellato’s new ad campaign is lovely, all kinds of artsy while the Nudo Rings are pure delight. Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, the said jewelry pieces are really versatile, all in being simple and eye catching enough to be statement accessories.

Now: there’s a fine line between hip and flop. Pale-ish, white-ish is the new color for evening wear, hence Tilda, who is a celebrated fashionista, was sporting the must wear color. All I want to know is didn’t anyone tell her she forgot to take her pajama off? It was an official event, after all!

Remember that piece about Roger Vivier? And Suri Cruise? Well, here’s Suri’s proud mama, Katie Holmes, celebrating her 33rd birthday! The thing would’ve passed completely unnoticed (okay, maybe with a mental note of congrats for Katie) if it wasn’t for some familiar sight. The thing she’s wearing? The black jumpsuit? Onesie? Doesn’t it remind you of something? Of a very similar white one she had on for her Broadway premiere (All My Sons) back in 2008? (jumpsuit which was supposedly her very own design, her very own fashion label, Holmes & Yang)

Just like then, she’s wearing the piece over a lace top, a contrasting one, to make it even more challenging for the nice fashion people to look at. So, what did you say to yourself Katie? If a white jumpsuit over a black lace top doesn’t look too good, then a black one over a white lace top would? Just because two years have passed and maybe our style memory fades faster than you can say fashion disaster?
