Today, my dahlings, is one of those very special days. And I’m not just saying that because it’s Sunday! Not even because it’s Earth Day! (although that doubles the fondness I have for this day, every year). Today is someone’s special Birthday. Our dear friend, Adriana, is celebrating her Birthday today: Happy Birthday, dear Adriana! We love you dearly!

One of my favorite movies ever: Up. I know I told you that before and I know you weren’t necessarily ready to hear it again. But I found Up to be so inspiring, it often pops up in my mind Monday morning. Bringing me inspiration for a brand new week.

I found this lovely photo session from one of the most talented couple of photographers I’ve had the pleasure of seeing online with a really irresistible theme: Up. Recreating Carl & Ellie’s home and life style was an easy task with Lisa and Geoff Bardot (The Goodness) who are just as charming as the real deal! Talking about hair… here’s something I put together for you today. Like it or not, messy hair is part of our life. Fight it and it’s like you were fighting your nature. And fighting nature is never good. Have you ever tried to measure yourself with a tornado? I’m tellin’ya, better befriend Nature, harmony is definitely better than fighting anything, be it as frizzy as a broom!

I’ve been gathering so many amazing images that I started noticing similarities and recurrent motifs / patterns / colors. So many beautiful women, such a delicate approach! I loved Naq Lee’s short movie! Although I can’t say there’s something really particular and original about it, I loved the human approach. Too often, models are looked at as if they were clothes hangers and nothing more.

This is, if needed, proof that they are, above all, human beings. Delightfully beautiful, young and feeling-ful human beings! Please join me in Facing a lot of gorgeous models. A lot! (some of them I didn’t even knew they were so charming and warm! Not to mention the joy filling my heart since almost every one of them is smiling. Truly, authentically smiling for the camera!)

It’s Hump Day, sweethearts! How are you holding up? We’re halfway through already! Can you believe two days from this week are already up in smoke? Talking about “up”: for your enjoyment, the Dreams of Flying series by Jan von Holleben!

I first got to meet this photo concept with the already worldwide renowned Dreams of Mila settings. That sweet baby girl went everywhere in her sleep, all orchestrated by her crafty, talented mama! Now something tells me this was one of the inspiration sources of Mila’s Daydreams as Jan von Holleben developed his series from 2002 until 2008. I selected only a few images I hope you’ll enjoy! Are You Familiar With The Ballerina Project?

I almost forgot about this wonderful project of unspeakable beauty! This is the best part that comes with celebrating a beautiful heart – beautiful things come to mind!

The Ballerina Project was initiated by (what else?) a photographer. Dane Shitagi, original from Honolulu, started all this madly charming series ten years ago and carrying it from her native Honolulu to skyscraping New York. There’s not much to say about it and I prefer to let the images speak for themselves – they do a much better job than I with my noisy, overenthusiastic speech! (there’s a short clip after the jump if you’re in the mood! – so tell me, were you familiar with the Ballerina Project?)
