Alicia Keys designed a special double tag necklace, part of her jewelry collection The Barber’s Daughters. The tags are engraved with (one) a Ghandi quote (“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”) and the other (by demand, with no extra costs) with a name and a birth date. The necklace is available for $295 from which $100 goes to Keep A Child Alive.

If you love bugs, you’ll instantly fall for Michelle Trachtenberg’s Coach Poppy collection! With prices from $78 to $128, the preview of the collection that looks more stuffed than a summer salad (avec bug) is hilariously described as “refined-romantic with attitude, bringing a punky look to a lush mix of materials and inspirations”. That’s because they didn’t know French and they took the long English road to “n’importe quoi” (appx “whatever”, see more here)

(Let us not forget to keep up with the Kardashians! They too have a jewelry line ready for the stores. And this one is “romantic, edgy, and classic vintage”. That too is the long for “n’importe quoi” only in Armenian English. Launching in April 2010 with Virgins Saints and Angels, the collection looks spikey and blingy. And if you celebrate Christmas in April, you’d better get a Kardashian jewelry piece en cadeau!)

Now getting back to the main focus of this last minute Christmas shopping spree: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Asprey snakes. Jewelry. Back on the BAFTA Awards Red Carpet, Angelina was breathtakingly beautiful complimenting her Armani trademark black with snake jewelry. The pieces were actually designed by the celeb glam couple because Angelina feels the snakes as a protector of her family (?). The weird belief roots in her Shiloh pregnancy days when she received a snake shaped ring (non-Asprey).

The Asprey Protector Collection is declined in various shapes: silver baby spoons, rings, earrings, bracelets. If you’re ready to buy your baby a $525 silver baby snake spoon, Asprey by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is the name for you! Of course, one could always think about Angelina’s Alexander performance and feel the chills down the spine when seeing her act with snakes. “M-dolla” Chopard Knuckle Ring has more than 258 brilliant diamonds and appears on the cover of the much awaited “Hard Candy” album. But what’s the idea with this ring? It has a special feature we’re not aware of? Some kind of glowing in the dark thing? It gives the wearer superpowers? And I know she’s not a punker, however, I came across this Knuckle Brush and thought it would have been more becoming for Madge … It’s rougher than a blingie, it’s womanly enough, would have been a perfect waste of minutes to save the world…from dust.
What would it be? Bling it or dust it away?

She was my Oscar night faiblesse. Flawless presence, flawless outfit and accessories. Chopard adorned her with the Oscar – Necklace for that night, as it appears the well known jewelry giant dresses a best actress or best supporting actress since 2004. Marion Cotillard wore a $2.6 million champagne diamond briolette (a pear-shaped or oval gemstone, especially a diamond, cut in long triangular facets) looking perfectly matched to her modest air from that night. Admiring its vintage look, I would have never guessed it was such a treasure, would you?

I don’t even know if you can actually wear the thing. The facts remain – for Boucheron’s 150th anniversary, a gold snake skeleton necklace coated and decorated with (real) chocolate carrying a diamond has been made and awaits gourmands.

I love anniversaries! Especially when you’re getting to the cake-part! However, having a necklace in chocolate makes me wonder if it’s something to wear or something to eat.

It’s easy to diet when rich, right? You’re facing such dilemmas!

The 20.08 carat tinted yellow diamond is not to eat, that’s for sure! Eventually you replace it with the diamond shaped chocolates created for the same occasion.

I have no idea what’s the price of this… necklace. But help me out here – it’s to wear? It’s to eat?

Swarovski teamed up with Rodarte, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Libertine, Jovovich-Hawk, Alabama Chanin to make one-of-a-kind dresses embroided with selected diamonds. The results were exhibited from Tuesday at Chateau Marmont (bungalow one) and will remain there until tomorrow.

As for the dresses – 3.1 Phillip Lim’s dress is named “Galaxy” and features Cartier antique brooch cast in platinum, white gold, brilliant, round and single-cut diamonds. Alabama Chanin’s dress is made with Jaipur’s Gem Palace ($50,000 worth of rough diamond beads along the neckline), Jovovich-Hawk chose Camilla Dietz Bergeron for a silver-topped gold and diamond necklace set with European cut diamonds, Libertine teamed up with Neil Lane using 21 of their brooches. As for Rodarte, they used Van Cleef & Arpels incorporating five diamond-and-enamel butterfly and rose brooches into their gown.

On display at Chateau Marmont there will be lots and lots of sparkling diamonds, some of the pieces have never been presented before, so it makes Chateau Marmont a rather interesting place to visit.

I’m having troubles deciding which one of the five dresses I like. However, the Alabama Chanin looks like a curtain, so it’s a definitely no, the Jovovich-Hawk has a casual look to it, so it’s no for the Red Carpet (that was the original target, right?), Phillip Lim’s looks like a tulle sac wrapped and folded around the neck (so I guess that makes it a no), Libertine’s 1930s inspired dress looks simple and … well… black. (I’ve something against black, so it’s a no), that lives us with nothing more than Rodarte’s ballerina dress.

The Luxury Institute conducted a research among 500 subjects with net worths averaging $15.1 million inquiring them on just few important aspects for each name of the 20 listed for the purpose.
Superior quality, uniqueness and exclusivity, social status, customer service. Now let’s take a look at the result:

On first came Harry Winston where the opening price is around $3.700 for a small pair of diamond earrings and go up to multimillions.

On second is Buccellati, worldwide known for customizing each item, thus excelling in “luxury and exclusivity” key point.

On third is Van Cleef & Arpels, the jewelry of the stars, clearly positioning lately as high jewelry with “Ballet Précieux”, a 80-piece collection.

The fourth place is taken by Graff, the ultraexclusive luxury brand knowing success levels never touched before with average sales transactions of $400.000.

Fifth choice is Tiffany, “an American classic” in alert expansion on asian markets.

On sixth comes Piaget (with a $2.5 million watch launched last year)

Cartier is the seventh choice in this study (who is reportedly thinking of splitting the jewelry and tobacco holdings)

Eighth position is occupied by Chopard, one of the most loved brands for red carpet appearances.

Bulgari occupies the ninth place with prices right under $200 to over $38,000 (on their site), recording an important 14.3 percent raise in jewelry sales.

On last comes Mikimoto mostly known for the Miss Universe Crown.

Well in those pictures, you could have seen a pretty interesting ring on Hilary’s index. I’ve seen it too, imagine! And didn’t say a word about it because I was all into handbags at the time. Now I’ll say something about that amazing ring!

It’s called the Czarina Ring(see the update below) and it’s part of the collection Czarina signed Ere by Repossi. It has 15 diamonds and it’s made of yellow gold. Purely gorgeous!

Now let me tell you a little something about the Czarina Collection (I told you that I love stories, didn’t I?). It’s a relatively new collection under the name Ere by Repossi and meant to

evoke the Byzantine jewellery of Vladiko, the Russian orthodox bishop, and of the Episcopate, archbishop and patriarch in Greek, hereby evoking the origins of Eugenie Niarchos, who likes to wear a Tsjotki, a rosary, as well as the crosses of the orthodox iconography with baroque interlaces.

The collection is not religious in any kind. Made from black, white, yellow, pink gold with diamonds tries to recall the luxurious byzantine way of Tsars.

Update: Thanks to our reader merce, I’m making an important update to let you know that I was mislead in my obsession into believing that the ring sported on Hilary Duff was a Repossi. In fact, it’s a Loree Rodkin creation and hereby you have the pictures to prove it.

Tiffany’s helped us add some more sparks to our joyfully blessed Holidays. We couldn’t help noticing this signature ring with diamonds in 18k gold which we placed at number one in our little jewelry top (a well deserved one, considering its $1.400 price).

The $1.100 Airplane gold charm pendant came in second. It has rotating propellers and diamond windows.

The pendants we couldn’t really tell how to order so we’re just giving it plain and simple: on the third, fourth and fifth place we have three pendants. The $150 sterling silver Frank Gehry Orchid drop pendant, the $5.500 double drop pendant of round sapphires and round brilliant diamonds in platinum, the $395 Elsa Peretti Open Heart Pendant featuring Elsa Peretti’s most celebrated icon in carved black jade, rhodonite and blue lace agate.
