A clutch is one of those things that will be around for a while. They’re just so classic, really — I’ve got clutches from the ’30s, in that envelope style that’s really simple and not too overdone. This one is part of the collection that I just designed for Longchamp, and you can actually stuff a load of things in it and bash it around. The leather is textured to look like shagreen, which I love. Most bags are too heavy to carry things in, and so many of them are stiff, and you know it’s going to take years to mess them up. I like things that are already worn in, something tactile that’s going to be comfortable on your skin. When I was working on the collection, I showed it to my daughter, but she’s a bit — you know. She just said, “Yeah, it’s all right.” She prefers bling and Hello Kitty. She says she doesn’t like Hello Kitty anymore, but I know she really does. I mean, I love it, too. I just nabbed her Hello Kitty makeup bag, in fact. What can I say? I like a mismatch. (via)

They even made some kind of contest for finding the perfect Kate Moss tagline they could use for promoting, reinforcing the must-have, IT-status of a once-a-model, always-a-model, sometimes-a-designer, Kate the Legend makes Longchamp bags. With every season passing by, I’m drowning more and more into a strange conviction: Marc Jacobs is the very essence of this world’s snobbery! He’s taking advantage of every schmancyness and he’s turning garbage in gold! Because he can. Because he’s allowed to. Because you’ll never see the likes of Queen Bee wearing a trash bag for a luxury bag if there was not for Marc Jacobs turning one into a luxury bag for Louis Vuitton! And I bet you he’s enjoying this! All of this!

First of all, because you know I always research deeper than the nearest source, you should know that the association Louis Vuitton and trash bags isn’t at its firsts with this Raindrop Besace here. Oh, no! No other brand has ever faced such a counterfeit reactivity such as Louis Vuitton! It’s the very essence of our consumerist society: people are willing to wear anything even remotely similar to the original Louis Vuitton products. They’re even willing to spawn that Louis Vuitton love onto everything they touch: household apparel, cars, food! There’s simply no stopping the LV tagging!

If any of you artists standing by cares enough to make it happen, let there be a globe fully covered in LV monograms! It’ll simply show how far we’ve reached in our need to be socially recognized, to identify ourselves as what we wear. Marc Jacobs is fully aware of this hysteria and he’s pushing the madness even deeper, further. How long are we willing to take this? How far are we willing to take the LoVe? Fergie was caught wearing a new Cartier bag. It’s the Marcello de Cartier, the large bag in Tobacco cowhide leather. She paired it with a wonderful Missoni and a grey gat. (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery!)

If Marcello de Cartier sounds like a familiar bag to your ears it’s because we’ve already talked about one particular bag from the Marcello family! As far as last year, Angelina Jolie was spotted toting a black shopping bag called Marcello de Cartier for a dinner date with her beau Brad. I wasn’t a fan back then, but then again I love brown bags more than black ones (I love everything brown, actually – bags, shoes, clothes).

The only downside with Fergie’s Marcello de Cartier bag is the strap. There’s no shoulder strap I could pass across my body to make the Marcello one fine messenger bag. The design doesn’t quite allow it, but one girl can dream, can’t she? Especially if we’d take out a zero from this bag’s price, I’d be the first to close my eyes at the strap minus! The ad looks great, with a special exotic touch. Special notes: I love Bvlgari. Always have. Their chunkiness and straight forward appeal whisper to my heart. Even more special note: I love Julianne Moore. She just keeps it real, besides being incredibly beautiful and hugely talented. Beyond special note: now if someone can point Julianne Moore in the photograph below, I’d be endlessly grateful!
