Lady White Snake is a new fashion film directed by Indrani, starring Daphne Guinness who gets to wear some very interesting pieces (from Alexander McQueen, Genghis Khan (?), Gareth Pugh, Philip Treacy, Fred Leighton, Bess) and behaves like the walking rare art form that she is. The legend in itself, although not a happy one, has been romanticized over the years and this could be one of those love-y forms, depicting a sentimental story between Daphne and, possibly, Alexander McQueen. These are just speculations as the official truth will surface this very Sunday, February 12 2012 at the screening of The Legend of Lady White Snake when 12 life size prints with images from the Markus Klinko & Indrani special collaboration will be sold to benefit Charity: Water and Indrani’s Indian school for women empowerment. They had me at “McQueen tribute” so the images only confirm the visual bliss that is this short fashion film!

It certainly isn’t your modern apparel, but being conceived by Leonardo Da Vinci makes it special enough to make any Birkin fade and lacking fashion personality in comparison. The real deal is even better than the drawing itself, Gherardini’s Pretiosa’s was just introduced to the world and you can admire it after the jump! I’m really curious about the price… Any ideas?

Tod’s (yes, the same Tod’s for which Gwyneth Paltrow used to represent) has apparently set up a guarantee fund for the restoration of the Colosseum (10 million euros, $12,7 Million) to start the works at the Colosseum. However, this is not something Tod’s is doing for free (although they reportedly denied it): for the entire duration of the restoration of the monument (for which they’re willing to donate 25 Million euros – $31,8 Million), Tod’s ads would be visible on the Colosseum’s protective wraps. However, it is said that their sponsorship proposal has been rejected. Looking forward for Tod’s next move… (I wonder if Hermes could do the same if ever a restoration plan of the Eiffel Tower would be set in motion! and… Ralph Lauren for Mount Rushmore)

(here I initially inserted this huge paragraph about our Adored Home – wink – but then I said to myself maybe you won’t be interested in reading that, so I moved it after the jump! Fell free to enjoy it after the fist image!) So this is Sofia Coppola’s New York Apartment. Or so I read. The images I put together here come from more than just one photo shoot so that’s why you’ll see Sofia dressed in more than one outfit, with hair not as long in all photographs! Every now and then, I write about someone’s famous home. Or at least one of his / her houses. And I’m loving it! I’m such a sucker for everything and anything interior decoration! One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to ease up on the home decoration – I usually immerse myself in home deco and do and redo a room from the house (on paper) several times over before I call it final. Last year we pretty much managed to finish the living room, the kitchen (all white! I love it!), the entry hall, the small office downstairs, the kids rooms upstairs aaaand… well. I’m not done yet! I covered pretty much the base with furniture and curtains but now I’m at the hardest part – decorating the entire place!

Getting back to Sofia Coppola’s place: the photos, as I understand, were occasioned by her collaboration with Louis Vuitton. You see her LV bags and shoes all over the place. Now – about the shoes: do you notice a particularly beautiful suede black platform sandal Sofia is wearing in several pictures? THOSE are the ones I want! Right. Now! Remember when Sofia showed up at Cannes wearing a really similar pair of suede platforms? Soooo similar! I’m sure those are from her collection too!

Now about the place in general: I love it! It’s simple, it’s peaceful, the interiors carry very personal notes (how about that pictures wall? Lovely!), very much Sofia! It’s warm, it looks cozy and totally like a home! How do you like it? (the funny thing: I found the images published on a website called I want to be a Coppola! Cute, isn’t it?)

Aside from it being designed by Azzedine Alaia, I can’t put my finger on something really impressive when looking at these interiors. Sure, the couch has the wow – factor to the max, the furniture is under the minimal sign, young designers and vintage go together hand in hand. But… where’s the coziness of it all? Well, this season it’s an artist they on boarded for the realization of the new Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign! Jack Pierson is the eye behind the new campaign pictures. Joyful and colorful, the new visuals do remind of Jack Pierson’s vivid collages and artworks. This time he had Karmen Pedaru to show off against a blue ocean background (the lighly overexposed picture is something you’ll see often in Jack Pierson’s artistic photography work – see examples here). The campaign, however, breaks in print media next month and we have some waiting to do, sadly – the campaign is accompanied by a video guiding us through the making of this campaign! I’d love to see that! wouldn’t you? And I love the idea of pairing artists with fashion!

It could be yours for just $2,1110.40 (from $2,638). It’s a great accent chair, in a minimalist fashion, how I love them best! Too bad about the price tag. But hey! Who said a girl can’t daydream, huh?

Hand Knitted cream Aran armchair slip cover is just one of those crazy beautiful ideas I’d instantly add it to my home. As I looked around, I realized I’d want more than just this beautiful armchair slip cover! I’d like to have the Aran Chunky knitted ottoman slip cover too for comfort purposes; I looooved the knit cream leg warmers for chairs and I was most surprised (in a awesome kind of way) by the Aran Chunky knit hanging light shade!
