Chopard Crafted the World’s Most Expensive Watch

Chopard made the world’s most expensive timepiece, nonetheless you can also count it as one of the ugliest too. As if beauty was money-measurable!

Anyway, out of curiosity, let’s see what this ugly-most-expensive Chopard is made of: three heart-shaped diamonds (the white, pink and blue one we can easily spot on the surface or whatever that yellow-transparent thing is): the pink one is a 15 carats, the blue one is a 12 carats and the white is 11 carats worth.

The World’s Most Expensive Watch Chopard
The “thing” as I called it earlier is, in fact, a bracelet, enriched with 163k of yellow and white diamonds put together as flowers.

Well, quite a nasty little fellow, dontcha think? I wouldn’t pay it $25 million not in my lifetime.
Mmmaybe if it would serve good cause (like charity, I mean) and if it wouldn’t imply that I actually have to wear that ugliness…

Handpicked Vintage Accessories

What makes our personal style “stylish”? Wearing designer clothes? Wearing expensive designer clothes? Wearing designer accessories? Expensive, taggy accessories? Wearing some tacky-wacky standing out from the crowd outfits? Sticking to a trend, following a new trend, having no trend in mind whatsoever?

Lots and lots of questions come to my mind when thinking about “style”. Serious questions marks pop when thinking about the next outfit I’ll choose to wear and where to wear it. Does style only comes in clothes? Doubt it. Does one’s style is only layered in fabric? I for one bid it all for attitude.

Vintage Accessories
I’ll project some of my fashion-style-troubles in these e-pages from time to time, for you to opinion (not to judge, for none has this authority), let’s enrich our style through information. Today I projected some hand picked vintage accessories. Not specifically trendy, not absolutely “dernier cri” but always there to help us put singularity in the way we represent ourselves through outfits.

Makeup Case Must – The Japonesque Pencil Sharpener Tube

All those years I tried in vain to sharpen my eye pencils the right way! Now I found the perfect tool! The perfect tool to sharpen my eye pencils like a professional.

This amazing cylindrical tube has a sharpener at one end and a trimming blade on the other so the pencils are always in the best shape to deliver a master make up. Plus! The shavings are stored in the tube’s body (it has a blade cleaning pick too! They thought of everything!). You can find this Japonesque miracle over at hqhair.com.

My 2008 Spring-Summer Wishlist – Akris and Alberta Feretti

For the third episode of the series I started not so long ago starring Akris and Alberta Feretti. Let’s get inspired!

Albert Kriemler seemed to have his own interpretation of navy motifs for Spring Summer 2008. So much his own that I was compelled to restrain my choices at two outfits.

Both already classic for my taste in clothes – one man suit with wide leg trousers and one black and white combo – striped top and high waist pants. The others creations signed Akris were so hermetically trendy that I just had to pass.

Alberta Feretti’s romantic soft chiffon gave me a light gladiator feeling. Nonetheless, gladiators took over the streetstyle almost two years ago so I wasn’t all impressed with her approach of 2008 Spring-Summer breeze. I picked up few dresses that I see fit for both casual and dressy appearances but not simple as they were presented. Personalized, they could bring something memorable to an outfit.

All Eyes on Tom Ford

I would say that Tom Ford “Jennifer” sunglasses were largely the most popular model of sunglasses for 2007.

Since I have a weakness for his doing, I was pleased to conclude that but it brought me to the point of finding the following.

Celebrities Wearing Tom Ford Sunglasses
Seen on various celebrities (from Rose McGowan to Lisa Rinna, from Angelina Jolie to Gwen Stefani), the “Jennifer” were the It sunglasses for 2007.

Easy to match, not to demanding as style or color, the Tom Ford’s sunglasses were beloved all over vip land.

After closely looking through his models because beside the “Jennifer”, some heavy names chose some other Tom Ford eyewear (Christina Aguilera was seen wearing the “Marissa” in Brown Horn, Nicky Hilton showed off a pair of “Whitney”, Elisha Cuthberg with “Margaux”, Lindsay Lohan and “Ford”, Brad Pitt wearing “John”), I asked myself if something was wrong with me, or if in the name of trademark, an overwhelming percentage (let’s say 60%?) of Tom Ford’s sunglasses resemble each other in a striking manner.

Tom Ford Sunglasses
More than that, many of the Tom Ford’s originals look like well known branded models (take for instance the wayfarers which can be found under Tom Ford’s “Cary” or “Jack”, not to mention the world known aviator in Tom Ford’s reediting “Charles” or “Shelby”).

But then again, what’s the use of being original when you’re Tom Ford? It’s not even bad for business since everyone wants and has a piece signed Tom Ford, his design or not.

My It Fashion Scarves This Winter

That’s what Rowan Mersh does for me this winter! Some fabulous fabric works in Victorian black and creamy themed collections (named Fabric Sculpture 1 and 2 or Bodyworks). He also does jewelry pieces and looking surprisingly good, and overall wearable just as these scarves and jewelry pieces over here.

Born 12th July 1982 he graduated the Royal College of Art London in 2005 and describes himself and his work in a very simple manner, not trying to take credit for the stunning way he chooses to work with fabrics, but putting it all to material’s credit:

The essence of my work lies primarily within the complete understanding of a fabric or material. From understanding a textiles inherent characteristics from their structure and the way they are knitted woven or formed to the yarns used in their construction an instinctive sense is able to develop. It is this affinity with the cloth that informs possible capabilities and potential for manipulation and subsequently my creations.

(I’ve got to say that people playing with fabric and textures keep surprising me these past times. One of my favorites remains Alice Temperley who also specialized in fabric technology and print, believing this is the way with fashion).

Just refreshing, don’t you think? It changes a bit the way you ordinary look at scarves and jersey. Not to be to theatrical about wearing these accessories, but I have to admit they stand out in a grey-ish outfit for present temperatures.
