2013 Met Gala Fashion: Miley Cyrus Marc Jacobs Black Dress
May 6th, 2013 by kpriss
How wonderfully Punk does Miley Cyrus look on the 2013 Met Gala Red Carpet in that black mesh Marc Jacobs dress? Perfectly suiting the theme and the Chaos to Couture style of the night and the associated exhibition!
I know not many can count Miley Cyrus among their fashion references, but she makes a pretty interesting appearance each and every time on a festive or non-festive occasion. She just has that controversial quality to her persona and personality that will always make a media magnet, regardless of what career turn she’ll choose or whoever she’ll have at her side.

2013 Met Gala Fashion: Katie Holmes White Calvin Klein Dress
May 6th, 2013 by kpriss
If a seemingly undone wedding gown train does it for a punk soiree, anything does! Katie Holmes, my dahlings, was white, virginal and off-topic at tonight’s 2013 Met Gala Punk: Chaos to Couture charity event.
Katie was wearing a white dress from Calvin Klein on the Met’s Red Carpet. All American, all ethereal and all punk. Not. I know, I said it before, but I can’t understand how one can attend a themed costume night not wearing the part, not playing the game. At least for fashion’s sake. And no, the hair do doesn’t count in this case. It would’ve if there were safety pins involved.
Something spiked, something torn, something rebellious, something exciting. Other than white. Ethereal, bridal white. It would’ve been a perfect dress for another occasion. But not the Met’s Punk themed soiree! I’m sorry Katie, nothing personal but your outfit is just too safe, too dull: moving on. (images Getty)

2013 Met Gala Fashion: Beyonce In Givenchy Dress
May 6th, 2013 by kpriss
That’s it. The Met Gala 2013 is officially on a roll and Beyonce arrived on the Red Carpet moments ago. Everybody was really excited about her and her performance so may go ahead and call her one of the key participants of the night.
Her outfit looked more like a skirt&top combo than a dress, but judging by the attention she was getting from Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, I was led to believe Beyonce was wearing Givenchy tonight. When all the reports will fly in, we’ll know for sure (and I will, biensur, update with the exact info and photos) but all we have momentarily are speculations and oddly similar designs hinting at Givenchy’s Fall 2013 collection.
I’m happy she went for something other than her usual Red Carpet mermaid silhouette!

2013 Met Gala Fashion Anna Wintour In Chanel Flowery Dress
May 6th, 2013 by kpriss
Seeing Anna Wintour wearing a flowery dress on while attending and presiding over a soiree celebrating Punk kind of raises eyebrows and all sorts of fashion questions. But then again, it’s Anna Wintour, right? You can’t have her punk her style. Or maybe wearing flowers when you’re supposed to wear safety pins is a rebellion in itself, summarizing the essence of punk fashion.
Either way, Anna Wintour is wearing a flowery dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Haute Couture. Pretty. Timeless. Very Wintour. Less punk, but Couture, so I think it’s safe to conclude on a half-themed outfit. Right? (Anna came with her daughter, Bee Shaffer, as always) Punk to Couture Met Gala 2013 exhibition’s Red Carpet is young, I’m still hooked on the live stream and I can’t wait for all the pictures to surface because I already picked my favorite look of the night. Nothing will top that, you’ll see! (images Getty, styledotcom)

2013 Met Gala Red Carpet Arrivals
May 6th, 2013 by kpriss
Co chairs of tonight’s Met Gala 2013 Punk To Couture Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci, Rooney Mara, Lauren Santo Domingo already made their glamorous appearance on the Red Carpet. I wanted to write about this while watching the actual live streaming because I can’t stop marveling at the wonderful gowns and the glamorous people in attendance. Join me in drooling all over this Red Carpet (live streaming here).
I won’t keep you from it, but you should know that Anna Wintour is wearing Chanel, Lauren Santo Domingo is wearing Dolce and Gabbana while Rooney Mara came with Riccardo Tisci wearing, biensur, Givenchy. This year is going to be very interesting as punk can really bring out the best in couture!

Arizona Muse Is Estee Lauder Modern Muse Perfume Ad Girl!
May 4th, 2013 by kpriss
I wonder what was the main criteria for this ad’s casting! Estee Lauder is releasing a new perfume my dahlings! This hasn’t happened in a decade so you can imagine it’s a pretty big deal. For the brand and for its loyal fan base.
The new perfume is called ‘Modern Muse’ – nothing unusual so far, it’s a nice name with a modern ring to it. But have you seen who’s fronting the campaign? It’s the ever-lovely, mom-haired Arizona Muse. As photographed by Craig McDean, Arizona Muse is Estee Lauder’s Modern Muse. Catchy, I know!

Doutzen Kroes New Hair: Do We Like It?
May 4th, 2013 by kpriss
Nothing is official yet – or so I think since I haven’t seen it everywhere in the news, but Doutzen Kroes has a new hairdo! She has taken a page out of the Flotus book of (hair)style and now Doutzen Kroes has a nice fringe to frame her pretty flawless face!
We’ve seen her with clip ons before, so I can’t say this is a surprising look, but Doutzen has such a lovely, almost perfect face that it would’ve been hard to assume it won’t suit her nicely. It seems, though, that the change happened for a reason – a pictorial reason, biensur, or maybe she just went out of hiding for this job and we finally got a chance to see her bangs. Until more details will surface (and with many thanks to our dear friend, Appollonia who tipped us about this), how do you feel about Doutzen Kroes new hairdo?

Fashionably Retro: Kate Moss In Vogue UK June 2013
May 4th, 2013 by kpriss
Vogue UK had enough of revolutionary breakthrough covers so they went back to the sure values for a great June 2013 cover and main pictorial. Kate Moss is doing everyone’s favorite retro Bardot-ish pose in front of Patrick Demarchelier’s cameras, languishing in a St Barts décor.
It’s all perfectly summery, posh and very fashionable. Flawless to the point of no more comments needed. Yes, it’s the same Kate Moss, yes, we know her inside and out. Yes, it’s the same epic kind of pictorial we’re all trying to escape from as being too cliché, too safe and too dull for our very avant-garde fashion tastes. But, seriously? Can you get more stylish than this?
