Julianne Moore’s Harper’s Bazaar May 2008
April 10th, 2008 by kpriss
How can you work your head around Hollywood for 25 years and still manage to turn all that glitzy stuff off and make a good wife and mum?
Julianne seems to have found her path. Married, two children, botoxfree. The interview she gave for this edition of Harper’s Bazaar brings to attention a normal woman, someone who balances work and family, fashion and passion.
Topshop Emma Cook Spring Summer 2008
April 10th, 2008 by kpriss
And another designer for a fast-fashion chain. And it’s a returning collaboration, en plus! Emma Cook worked a capsule printed collection for Topshop available in UK since yesterday.
My problem with this print is that I rather see it suited for nighttime use. Like when in need for some sleep, you begin to count down the zebras, the white, the stripy.

I remember a song named “Born Sleepy” – this the right name for this exquisite creation.
Undoubtedly tainted with most fashionable colors and basic enough to make a perfect seduction out of this little summer number, however, I don’t feel convinced.
Would you Cook-up your wardrobe with these zebras for the summer?

Tune In To DJ Karl (Lagerfeld)
April 10th, 2008 by kpriss
I’m listening to the hipsters of the hipstishers DJs – Karl Lagerfeld. He can do it all, right? So here he is with his impeccable only by him understood accent airing the internet.
“The Fashion Apocalypse Has to be Remembered!” How about that? Of course we’re talking just a jingle played in loop, but however DJ Karl delights your fashionable ears with Disco Never Dies:
We’re keeping things moving here with the music that’s liberating us, taught us we are all the same, showed us that computers were our friends.
Next you know, DJ Karl will be officiating computer-marriages into the Fashion Apocalypse Dawn!

The Kaiser Lagerfeld Wears Prada
April 9th, 2008 by kpriss
How high can you go and how inflated with your own ego can you be, once you get there? I often get to read about interns in the blogosphere, interns completely psyched with their opportunity and with the people being “nice” to them, not doing awful tasks, just delivering clothes for photoshoots.
Even if I had my dreams with the fashion industry, I never went as far as media involvement. Writing about this and that in the glamorous press means no dry cleaners or café jobs. Even now I’m appalled by the kiss-blogging (in case the notion is blurry – I’m talking about the eye and brain damaging, intelligence insulting and common sense ignoring blogosphere writing lovable, glorifying articles about everything in hope of receiving honors or advantages from the praised ones) and their attempt of making it to the ranking tops of fashinternet. Whatever. Someone has to do it, right? It’s my everyday mindless distraction.

Hermès Against eBay
April 9th, 2008 by kpriss
Without releasing any camouflage edition, Hermès enrolls the counterfeit war and claims 30,000 euros from Ebay at the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Troyes, France.
All that because eBay allegedly permitted transactions with fake Hermès and also took commission on the sales. Believing this to be an unfair war against counterfeiting because they’re going for the nearest head to roll, I hope eBay wins. Of course, making eBay fall for $47,000 it’s symbolic and the next step in this demonstrative war would be closing down every import from China and claiming $50,000…

$1,569 Cavalli Diamond Time Watch
April 9th, 2008 by kpriss
You can tell Cavalli’s on the market, can you? If he can issue a $1,569 watch on the market after Donatella sprung out her $227,000 Destiny timepiece.
So for this amount, you get alligator skin and diamonds. No gold. Like a regular fast-fashion store collaboration with a haute-designer – you get the name, the signature, a surrogate look and that’s about it.
And the hope that maybe one day you’ll get to have an entire wardrobe with the authentic signature, no intermediates. Until then, it’s Cavalli Time to be bought.

Project Dog-Runway
April 8th, 2008 by kpriss
Too many models and all into the average? Well today I had the honor of finding some very special models sniffing the road to the runway.
Dogs are getting seriously into modeling – a Slovakian agency manages pets guiding their first steps into professionally presenting fashion. I guess if beauty pageants for little girls exist, why not for dogs? There shall be more than dogs for breeding or feeding purposes – now there will be dogs for catwalks.

Kate Moss Is Glamour’s Best Dressed
April 8th, 2008 by kpriss
Agyness who? The uberpresent Kate Moss tops Glamour’s Best Dressed Readers voted List. We’re all going rock’n’drug!
I imagine they won’t go for Britney (she was, in fact, the no 1 Worst Dressed) or for Angelina who’s lack of taste (in clothes at least) is soon to become proverbial, but choosing a right dressed for the wrong reasons is all the same to me. It seems all those catwalk dreams are coming to life through Kate Moss. Kate who’s followed allover, whose life is known by everyone, it’s like we could all have a sneak peak at the runway backstage through her.

She’s “best dressed” without being the cleanest, most innovative outfit wearer. Her first position is a hypocritical declaration of glamour. Kate Moss is not glamorous. At best, she’s normal, only thin, blond, single, party-harder, addicted and so on, and so on (but she’s famous).
Why do you think she was voted no 1 on Glamour’s reader’s list? Is it representative? Is she really the Best Dressed?
