Blake Lively’s Soft Blue One Shoulder Marchesa Dress At BAFTA Brits To Watch

Another notable trend of the evening was soft shades of blue. Blake Lively illustrates this one carefully bending on the same side as her covered shoulder. (I love it when she does that! It’s like she would be pulled down by her hair? She does it all the time!)

The Marchesa Spring Summer 2011 soft blue dress worn by Blake… doesn’t it look familiar? No? a lil’ teeny tiny bit? For some reason it reminds me of her Chanel dress from this year’s Met Gala. Someone is keen on convincing Blake that she looks good in pajamas! please, make them stop? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via 1, 2)

Nicole Kidman’s Soft Blue Elie Saab Dress At BAFTA Brits To Watch

Another favorite of mine for the evening was Nicole Kidman. Her soft blue Elie Saab dress was a custom made one, basically one of the models from the Fall 2010 Couture collection reworked especially for Nicole.

She’s wearing it gracefully, pairing it with a beautiful smile and a great attitude, I wish I could’ve seen her with her husband, they’re such a refreshing sight. Their loving attitude, happy spirits always make my Red Carpet day, regardless of the event. How do you like Nicole’s dress from the BAFTA Brits to Watch event? (I think there was some kind of understanding, a coalition between the stylists to use only dresses with longitudinal sparkling inserts, wouldn’t you say so?) (more images here) (photos via 1, 2)

Marisa Tomei’s Blue Vintage Charles James Dress For 2011 Oscars

Marisa Tomei has also opted for a dark deep blue dress for the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. Only instead of falling for the latest designers collection, she chose a vintage 1950 couture dress from Charles James (from Lily et Cie). A while back, Penelope Cruz opted for a white vintage Pierre Balmain dress for the Oscars Red Carpet, so you might as well go on and say that vintage is de rigueur for the Oscar wardrobe.

Accessorizing her dress, Marisa was wearing Van Cleef and Arpels jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes. Though I admit it’s a dress I saw more fit for the Met’s American Costume Institute gala, I admire Marisa’s choice and her originality. I’m sure there wasn’t anyone dressed like her tonight! Amy Adams In Blue L’Wren Scott Dress For 2011 Oscars

The second L’Wren Scott dress comes from Amy Adams who opted for a dark blue sequined gown from the Fall Winter 2011 2012 collection (if you’re not wearing sequins tonight, you’re not Red Carpet ready!)

Though she said she was in no hurry to shed the baby weight, Amy looked impeccably slender and perfectly fashionable on the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. Her wavy hair and the emerald green jewelry were perfectly coordinated in her overall look. Such a sweet, gorgeous lady, such a lovely smile! Julianne Moore’s Tom Ford’s Blue Velvet Dress For 2011 Bafta Awards

There’s something between Julianne Moore and Tom Ford. A muse – designer relationship that is also in the benefit of the viewers. We get to be so enchanted by Julianne‘s Red Carpet appearances for she is truly a gorgeous woman and she’s wearing Tom Ford naturally, with grace and elegance.

I’m loving the blue velvet dress with bow detail in the back she had on for the 2011 Bafta Awards Ceremony. It’s royal and it compliments Julianne’s lovely complexion. And, to be honest, Tom Ford is a chic match for a Red Carpet appearance, wouldn’t you say? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)

Jessica Alba’s Blue Versace Dress For 2011 Bafta Awards

I’m picking up on a trend here. Something to do with very bright, vivid colors. Jessica Alba was wearing a gorgeous blue Atelier Versace maxi dress from the Spring 2011 Collection for the 2011 Bafta Awards Ceremony last night. And man, was she pretty!

She’s no stranger to cuts like this and the bold colors seem to fit her wonderfully. Even her pretty braids hair style is something we’ve seen her wearing before. I’m not complaining, either way, she is quite a bright sighting on the Red Carpet. And the Atelier Versace dress is stunning! I wish I had one of those hanging in my closet, wouldn’t you? Sofia Vergara’s Blue Roberto Cavalli Dress For 2011 SAG Awards

A special mention for the bright colored tonight – Sofia Vergara is wearing an electric blue Roberto Cavalli dress for the 2011 SAG Awards ceremony. Just like I did back on the Golden Globes Red Carpet for Katey Sagal, I’ll have to applaud Sofia Vergara for her bold choice.

Wearing such a colored dress could be a tricky thing, especially for someone who’s not as confident as Sofia is. I love her for being at such peace and ease with her gorgeous body. I love her for portraying such a joyful character in Modern Family, I love her for smiling so bright, I love her for so many reasons, I’ll stop right now before turning this into a Sofia Vergara hymn of praise. Yes, that’s one of the boldest cleavages tonight, so? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)

Zoe Saldana In Blue Calvin Klein Dress At Met Gala 2010

Zoe Saldana, in my books, can do absolutely no wrong (of course, until proven guilty). So seeing her at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute 2010 Gala wearing a tight, sculptural Calvin Klein blue dress is part of that above-mentioned perfection program.

Pairing with Diane Kruger’s white silhouette for Calvin Klein, Zoe Saldana is the modest, yet unspeakably loud beauty (they should’ve kept her makeup on a lower key – that foundation is clear as daylight under the flashes). I wish I could add more, but Zoe’s perfectly speaking for herself! (noticed that Na’vi blue cuff? Funny she should pair it with the dress, though it matches heavenly – more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)
