Seeing how villains are the new rage as this year, Angelina Jolie will give life – on the big screen – to Disney’s Maleficent, how about we concentrate on their fashion for a moment? After all, Disney Princesses have been constantly refashioned and their wardrobe received one too many makeovers so far!
But bad characters have a nasty way of getting under our skin, so it would be only fair to get their closet through a serious restyling and update the Disney Villains style and fashion beyond the charms and the powers they do or don’t possess. Casting a fashion spell:

Finally we’re on Summer’s tail and matching our sandals and our tan will keep us preoccupied for the following months!
Until now, going through fashion magazines and finding transition outfits inspiration was a regular feature. Now, stylish beach stories, dreamy exotic fashion or urban safari references are to be expected. Something to cool off our hot fashion imagination. The three June 2014 covers picked up, however, seem to completely ignore the seasonal rules. Jennifer Lawrence’s Marie Claire, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Vogue Germany and Robin Wright’s Town&Country make for quite the eclectic selection.

Summer is almost here and although flat utilitarian sandals were the catwalk hype for the new season, many of us won’t deny ourselves the pleasure of wearing high heels!
For several years already, wedge sneakers seem like the dream answer to the need of height and the strive for comfort with each step. As we’ve seen models making a must-wear from Isabel Marant’s Willow wedge sneakers, we even found a way to dupe some pretty haute fashion sneakers sent on the couture runway from Dior and Chanel. But we were also warned by the same Isabel Marant that the wedge sneakers reign is over.
Will Converse save the day?

When it comes to iconic underwear, there’s no match for Calvins! From the 1992 fashion heydays when Kate Moss was cuddling next to Marky Mark to just yesterday when Rita Ora showed her Calvin Klein lingerie onstage, it seems like nothing changed and white Calvin Klein undies still run the world!
Advertising may be going strong on new channels, but it’s still clear as day that more and more stars are representing for the American brand’s underwear in an effort to keep white cotton lingerie relevant in a world of lace and Angels.

Whatever will happen, however she unfolds, Angelina Jolie is a steady value in entertainment. In 2014, she sealed yet another life-size story she’s known for: Elle Magazine has Angelina Jolie on their June 2014 cover, the US edition and some 40 other international editions reprinting as well. Not bad, huh? From this issue onward, Disney’s new Maleficent is going to be on every newsstand in the world, a random fact worth of a world record title.
Photographed by Hedi Slimane in Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane exclusively, Angelina delivers one of her stunning pictorials in her favorite black & white palette. Actually, it somehow reminds me of a story she did in 2007 with Marc Hom in 2007, for Esquire magazine…

What’s the point of attending a Ball if you choose to ignore the dress code? Where’s the point in attending Fashion’s most notable Red Carpet if you’re not wearing the right costume?
These are the questions that continuously popped into my mind when I was going through the visual reports from this year’s Costume Institute Gala (past years I had the same dilemma, except this time I’m voicing it firmly). So from the multitude of people who felt it was unnecessary to wear a costume to honor the Met’s Costume Institute exhibition’s theme, I narrowed down to a handful of celebrities I categorized as following:

When you say Charles James dresses, what’s the first thing that pops into your mind? I was little familiar with the grand designer’s work up until Anna Wintour announced the theme of the 2014 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala theme ‘ Charles James: Beyond Fashion’. As the D-day approached, I was looking more and more into the couturier’s archives, trying to get as much of his fashion as possible.
So the first thing I imagine when I think of a Charles James dress, is a glamorous ballgown with a dramatic sculptured, ample skirt, very pretentious occasions and Haute ladies (do tell me your sartorial vision of Charles James style in the comments, I can’t wait to read them all!)
