Hilary Duff Goes From Prada Bags To Muxo Bags

The Prada Lace is definitely losing ground! Hilary Duff, one of those celebs hunted for her choice of outfits (not necessarily in a bad way) who was spotted wearing a Prada bag with lace print on changed for a Muxo bag.

Hilary was no stranger to Prada bags (she was also spotted wearing one of those fairy blossoms bags from last season) so choosing a Muxo bag now makes me wonder if it was a freebie or celebs are really falling for the handmade idea of the Muxo bags. Camila Alves’s collection is far from being unattractive and her current relationship with Matthew Mcconaughey only helps the promotion of her designer talents. (more after the jump)

Prada SS09 Ads – The Black Dance

Just like the last Prada campaign, the new Spring Summer 2009 ads comes in episodes. I was somewhat surprised by the lace magnitude of the Fall Winter Collection signed Prada, but I loved their spokesface – Linda Evangelista. So I sang along their song and patiently waited for a lace-calm down.

When it finally happened, the new Prada ads were issued and even if I hoped for an improvement, all I got was a beige domino line. Now I’m graced with the black domino line. 7 models, all lined up for a photo wearing clothes that could bring the ironing industry to a sure bankruptcy but leaving me without any buying Prada desire whatsoever. Prada Fallen Shadows – The Short Animated Movie Fall 2008

Remember those shadows we were wondering about in the Linda Evangelista’s ad prints from the f-w 08-09 Prada campaign?

Problem solved! Here to present the Fallen Shadows short movie by Prada. Where all shadowy silhouettes collide in a lace and flying shoes stuffed Dalí-esque world. The music, however is beyond charming and I could listen to it with or without the lace shadows – The Great White Ocean by Antony and the Johnsons. The clip carries a Frida Khalo air (at least that’s how I remember Frida, the movie) and from the 6 minutes clip directed by James Lima, only 4 are actual animation, which is rather frustrating. I think it’s about motion capture (I wonder if Linda was the motion capture subject!). Watch the Fallen Shadows and tell me what you think (especially after the last Prada animated campaign, 100% insecticide fueled!)

UPDATE: I came across a piece of information confirming what I suspected all along – that Prada’s Fallen Shadows was made with Computer Motion Capture and Cyber-Scanning (meaning that a person would have to dress a suit filled with motion captors relied to a computer that registers the person’s moves and render it into an animated character). The inspiration for this short movie was found in Buñuel, Dali, Duchamp, as well as Escher, like you already pointed out. The atmosphere is similar to the Film Noir, with a pinch of Surrealism and Futurism, all sustained by Antony Hegarty the Johnsons’ sound.

The movie is about a woman and her shadow: “She is the sub-conscience, the dream, the soul, and it is the journey of self-discovery with the sensations of the city that confronts her…and us.”(James Lima)

Prada Linda FW 08 Engage! Third Episode

We’re dignified with a closeup! How more marvelous can you get? At least if it’s everywhere, let’s have fun with it!

For some reason this ad makes me think about Karl and his high collar theme (too bad Linda doesn’t have a bow tie like the Kaiser had back in the days! It would’ve warmed her plastic pose a bit). And let me say I’m beginning to feel a bit over-laced by this lace-excess.. Lace here, lace there, lace handbag, lace, lace lace? It just makes Linda look more like a plastic doll! Do you like that lace trend? Would it catch for 2009?

Another Ad Print With Linda Evangelista For Prada FW 2008 2009

I’m rather puzzled by this Prada set for the Fall Winter ad campaign. And I already told you that when we talked about the first print from this campaign.

Now here’s the second one. Besides the fluffy bag (coming to the rescue of the fluffy flying shoe that we don’t get to actually see this time except for its shadow on the wall) and that lace number they’re spreading for this fall, there’s Linda. Plastic-like-Linda looking dead flirty. And let’s not forget the shadow! That artsy fancy shadow getting people all crazy about their art sense. What’s the story, Prada glory?

Vanessa Paradis And Linda Evangelista For Prada Fall Winter 2008/09 Ad Campaign

Wind of change is blowing Prada’s counter. Either that, or Kiki wasn’t expressive as the Spring-summer 2008 Ad campaign face.

Or that blossom-insecticide-atrocity made its way into Prada’s marketing department. They’re letting go Kiki and taking Vanessa Paradis for this Fall-Winter Ad Campaing. The news goes much deeper – Sasha Pivovarova is cancelled from her Prada face post and in her place, they rather pay more than $10,000 for a retouching guru because they’ll have forty-something Linda Evangelista as their representative face.

Tilda Swinton In Prada At Met Gala

Tilda, darling, I’m looking deep in your golden haloed eyes and I still don’t feel convinced to not run and hide when I lower my eyes and see your dress!

It may be Prada, it may be matched to your shoes buckles, even matches your makeup and seeing you like that makes me think deeply at my grandmother’s bed cover. And that orange star brooch and matching ring, I promise, they look so much like the underbrush, I can’t understand what they’re doing strapped to that lace-number you got there (is there a vegan message they carry?)… Anyway, if you get a word of my troubles in understanding your outfit, let me know what was in your head when putting that outfit together like you did, until then, you’re my worst dressed for the Met Gala.
Ta-dah!

PS – you know what? next time you do a Red Carpet, please wear one of your Narnia outfits. Or Constantine. You see, I’m a big fan…

Naomi Campbell Covers Numéro 98 Magazine

What’s glittery black and you can see it allover? The YSL high waist pants worn by Naomi Campbell!

Here she goes again on the cover of French Numéro Magazine, no. 98! Blissfully beautiful, Naomi laughs her teeth off and strikes a gorgeous pose for the legendary magazine. The Yves Saint Laurent Pants, however, are her trademark season outfit, seen her with those pants with so many occasions (now I’m sorry I haven’t covered them all so you see I’m right). Kinda like Prada lace for every other magazine, these pants shall see the darkness of her wardrobe. And I shall be relieved when that happens! Have you seen her wearing those pants before?
