The Red And The Blue Dresses 2012 SAG Awards Red Carpet

Wrapping up the 2012 SAG Awards Red Carpet. So it was definitely a white Red Carpet. With safe black choices here and there. And there were blue dresses and there were red dresses (anyone wearing stars? I mean… blue, red, white? Stars and stripes?)

If I picked up a favorite (more, even) from the white dresses wearers, even from the black dresses, I can’t really say the same about the red and blue dresses! They were either unflattering, ill-fitting, bland, or too much. I’ll try, though! Squeezing in two of the dresses I thought were really nice and the ladies who worn them fairly: Jennifer Carpenter’s red Emilio Pucci dress – refreshingly short, simple, classic cut, lovely fabric work and.. f – lawless Jennifer Carpenter! Representing in the blue corner: Meryl Streep! She’s just amazing! She has this comfy, flattering personal style and she’s sticking to it! Oh, and she’s wearing Vivienne Westwood! 2011 Emmys Blue Dresses: Katie Holmes’ Calvin Klein, Dianna Agron’s Roksanda Ilincic

If you’ve been watching at least few of the Spring Summer 2012 Collections, then you know that bright colors are really in. The 2011 Emmy Awards Red Carpet comes to strengthen that and here to highlight the electric blue moment are Katie Holmes and Dianna Agron.

Katie Holmes had a blue Calvin Klein dress while Dianna Agron opted for a silky Roksanda Ilincic dress which really complimented her looks. Although this particular shade of blue is pretty difficult to pull as it calls all the attention in the room, both ladies were looking flawless. (what’s up with the messy hair, Katie? The hairstylist was swamped in traffic somewhere?)

The Blue Dresses From 2010 SAG Awards

There was definitely something blue in the air at the 2010 edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards! So many blue, blue-ish gowns! Is blue the new black? Or just some silent way to bond without really telling us why?

Let me introduce you to the 2010 SAG Sea of Blue Dresses: Tina Fey! Charming Tina Fey opted for a knee-long blue Ferragamo dress with draped V-neck. Undoubtedly a great choice for she looked adorable holding up her award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series! (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the blue SAG Awards 2010 gallery)

Drew Barrymore’s Monique Lhuillier Blue Dress For 2010 SAG Awards

Drew Barrymore’s retro Red Carpet look didn’t impress me as much as I wanted it to. Because I like Drew Barrymore. But she sometimes makes some pretty strange outfit choices.

Take this blue custom Monique Lhuillier dress for example (she seems to have a weakness for Monique Lhuillier dresses)! It’s a flawless dress, if you take that second skirt off, the floor length bustier dress would be simply stunning. Instead of adding a spark of originality and a moment of breathless style, that short second skirt breaks Drew’s silhouette. Not in a good way. (Drew Barrymore was honored by the Screen Actors Guild for Grey Gardens’ Little Edie as Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries). Did you notice her right arm tattoo? A tiny bird? Had no idea she had it! (click through to see more images or go directly to the gallery here!) (photos via)

Julianna Margulies In Narciso Rodriguez Blue Dress For 2010 SAG Awards

Though I have limited information about Julianna MarguliesGood Wife series on CBS, I have to say I’m delighted her performance gets such recognition. I used to watch ER (way, way back) and she made me feel her every emotion, she’s a gifted actor, especially for dramatic parts (please feel free to speak against this conviction of mine, like I said, I have limited information about Julianna’s repertoire). Then again, she was honored by the Screen Actors Guild with a Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, so that must say something!

She put on a stunning Red Carpet appearance for the 2010 edition of the SAG Awards, wearing a floor length blue velvet Narciso Rodriguez halter dress. Though it wasn’t far from a safe choice, Julianna’s simple styling did more for her than a heavy embellished one – she wore blueeee velvet… Well done, Julianna! (too bad for the heavy foundation, that must be a SAG thing – more images right after the jump!) (photos via)

Cindy Crawford Loves Blue Dresses

Though her Metropolitan Museum of Art Benefit Gala appearance alongside Donatella Versace wasn’t all that charming, Cindy Crawford challenges our eyes with yet another blue number!

Clearly too much, her Met Versace floor length gown brought a cheap breeze to gorgeous Cindy. But is she really a fan of blue dresses? Here she goes, wearing what seems to be yet another Versace electric blue gown at a recent event in Argentina (launching Remington’s hair straighteners). Expecting more blue dresses to come? (via)

2013 Grammy Awards Fashion Karlie Kloss In Michael Kors Blue Cutout Dress

Now that I just talked about how surprised I was about Adele’s Grammy dress, I’d like to show you another unexpected Red Carpet appearance at tonight’s 2013 Grammy Awards: Karlie Kloss! Did you know she was there?

Lean and gorgeous looking Karlie was wearing an electric blue cutout dress from Michael Kors. A dress she actually wore on the catwalk, wrapping up the designers Spring Summer 2013 Ready to Wear collection. Only the original catwalk design was equally cutout but in a maxi length and another color (black).

Michelle Obama Wears Thom Browne Blue Coat Dress On Inauguration Day

As we’re still waiting for the official proceedings to begin up on the Capitol Hill, Michelle Obama started this beautiful Inauguration Day in yet another blue outfit (she was wearing blue for the private Swearing In ceremony that took place yesterday, January 20th at the White House).

Traditionally attending the morning service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, the President, Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama wore matching blue looks and the First Daughters, Sasha and Malia were dressed in shades of purple from Kate Spade and JCrew, respectively.
