Run On: Moby Vs. Johnny Cash

For a couple of weeks now, I’ve been Moby-lized. Although I used to listen to a lot of Moby in the late 90s, I stopped doing so in the 21st century. Something alienated me from Moby and his wavy tunes. Well, something happened and I’m back on Moby. I know, it sounds like I’m on some kind of treatment (wink).

But you know me, and you know I don’t do Friday Breaks unless I really feel it. And this week, my dahlings, I Run On all the way back to 1999 when Moby released this pretty track. And don’t you just love his philosophical videos? They always had a higher purpose, a deeper meaning beyond the visual support offered to the preexisting tune. Did you use to listen to Moby back then? How about now? (hit the jump for Moby’s version of Run On and Johnny Cash’s God’s Gonna Cut You Down)

Of course I Johnny Cash’s God’s Gonna Cut you Down is still one of my favorite songs ever, but when I need a lighter version, I just listen to Moby’s instead of Run-ning On with The Man In Black. The only thing I can’t resist is the video made to accompany his song. Flawless and all kinds of amazing. Have you seen who’s in it?

And what’s up with that Illuminati madness? Was Johnny one of them? I feel like it’s all way beyond my level of reach and understanding so I’ll just concentrate on this wonderful folk song that spawned so many brilliant covers! (told you I was a folk girl. Rural and proud, baby, you can’t get better than that! wink)

Moby-lized :D

I liked Moby but I was never a great fan. Like this song though.
But I’m such a great Johnny Cash fan. Johnny Cash Forever.

I don’t get the celebrity thing either? So let’s google that. Johnny Cash don’t need them at all…..:)
