Although I’m really looking forward to the premiere of her upcoming movie ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’, I’ll have to settle for another kind of role Eva Mendes is playing this year: Vogue Eyewear 2013 ambassador!
You may remember that the grand Kate Moss did their campaigns for the last couple of seasons and, although I only think the best of her, a change is more than welcome! Eva Mendes is – undoubtedly – one of the most gifted actors of her generation. Actually, her co – starring with real-life boyfriend Ryan Gosling and Oscar nominated Bradley Cooper in ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ is what will make that movie so grand: a trio of incredibly talented young actors with such an amazing talent for both drama and comedy!
Being photographed by Mario Testino for the Vogue Eyewear campaign was reportedly great fun for Eva as Mario is Peruvian and she is Cuban so it was a pretty Spanish set, familiar and warm. Six images will break online and in print this month and by the looks of these behind-the-scenes teasers, it’s a lovely campaign, human and appealing.
And that, from what we’ve seen Eva around town, is really important for the star. She seems so down-to-earth and feminine most of the times, it only makes her more credible in her Vogue eyewear mission. But did you know that she’s also releasing a fashion collection this fall? Yep, with New York & Co! She said it will have a vintage feel and a flattery feminine approach! I’m curious already – arent’ you?
