Cara Delevingne Advertising The New YSL Baby Doll Mascara

As I was on the lookout for a new mascara (any ideas?) and felt in the mood for a change (I usually only swore by Lancome’s mascaras, but I decided I wanted to try something else), I noticed this particular piece of mascara news: YSL is launching a new mascara!

Suggestively named Baby Doll, the new Yves Saint Laurent mascara is set to launch in May but the ad campaign is already making the rounds of the interwebs. And naturally so since it stars none the other but the most sought-after model of the moment, Vogue cover girl Cara Delevingne.

As you all remember, the last collection designed and showed by Hedi Slimane for the French label was, to put it mildly, very controversial. Undoubtedly retro, though. Not as far behind as the 60s and 70s, but a throwback at the grunge 90s years, Hedi’s Fall 2013 collection was full of baby doll dresses and frocks for the young generation.

YSL Baby Doll Volume Effect Faux Cils Mascara, a beauty product rumoredly giving your eyes a false lashes finish has the right name and the proper ad campaign to sustain it. Part of the Baby Doll collection, this mascara will be joined by five colored eyeliners, lipstick and nail polish for a complete retro look&feel. Is this the new Saint Laurent aesthetic?

Clinique high impact mascara is my holy grail mascara. It elongates and adds volume. And it’s hypoallergenic. It’s just perfect.

Thank you Trix! Truth being told, I wanted a change because every time I use my mascara or my beloved Illuminator, my eyelids and actually the entire area surrounding my eyes starts itching like crazy :( I tried with natural beauty products as well and still the same result :( really a downer as I looooove mascara !

Clinique has great products. I have used it for years. Then Clarins for a few years which caused me some allergic reactions. I am so happy with my return to. Clinique. Everything Clinique is great. Including their smart and simple ad-campaigns. No face of Clinique, it’s about our own face. :)

Except YSL’s Touche Eclat of course. I’m aware I repeat myself…..:)
