All the years you’ve know me, you’ve never seen me talking about men in vain. I don’t do that. I can chatter about women and whatnots all day, but not about men. Because the thing is, you see, men have to be truly outstanding to get across the Frizz bar! The one set so high because of my Adored Husband that it’s impossible for anyone to stand up to it!
I love him, I respect him so deeply and so much, I simply don’t have eyes or heart for anyone else. He’s THE man for me. He’s EVERY man for me!
But every now and then, I recognize the true value of some men out there. People I don’t know personally, but who, through my movie loving individual perspective, earned my admiration. Denzel Washington, my dahlings, is obviously one of them! I mean… look at that man! He’s like walking grace. (do hit the jump, I’ll talk you some more into Denzel!)
I can’t even remember when I first saw Denzel on the big screen. Or the small screen. Whenever that was, it’s like yesterday. Or any day. Because there’s an absolutely magical timeless quality about Denzel Washington. You can’t just pin him. He can’t settle for a moment in time. I rarely heard him talk about himself so this October 2012 GQ issue is even more interesting beyond the simple eye – candy.
The interview, taken while Denzel was shooting his forty – second movie (42 movie, people! Whoa! 42 movies for a 57yo individual) but, during his sit-down with GQ, he talked about reading the Bible every day, about spirituality, about his friends, even about politics but mainly about being an actor. Because, as he said: “My professional work is being a better actor. I don’t know how to be a celebrity.” You can read the piece here. And … you know, just enjoy! Like you enjoy a good glass of red wine.
