The Royal College Of Art Unveiled London 2012 Olympic Podium Design

Think Purple! London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games released the first images of the Victory ceremonies outfits and flowers as designed by The Royal College of Art students.

The inspiration for the costumes comes from the Greek mythology and British Heritage. Also, they chose purple, because, allegedly, it fits all venues (they also thought of using white, but then it tarnished so easily) – although I was convinced purple came from blending red & blue from the Union Jack flag. Silly me, the answer was in the laundry room!

Volunteer athletes and presenter escorts, 200 male flower and medal bearers – that’s a lot of purple!

Nice, I like it!
They should have an awning though because it ALWAYS rains in Blighty!
