Joan Smalls’ Amazing W Magazine July 2012 Cover

It’s hard to ignore the breathtaking beauty and unearthly grace that is Joan Smalls. Gracing W Magazine’s July 2012 cover, Joan was photographed by Steven Meisel as part of the Fall Trend Preview issue.

Besides being a really good cover, aesthetically speaking, Joan Smalls follows a rocking cover with Tom Cruise, a movie – affair with Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen and an appealing Jessica Biel. March 2012 has been W’s model issue cover, with Kate Moss as the main highlight; if you remember, that inside pictorial with Good Kate, Bad Kate was one of the best ever. I cross my fingers for Joan’s to be just the same! I know she can deliver, so it was really just up to the editors if they wanted it big or just… average. And as far as I can tell, the cover is big, so that’s saying something already!

Such a pity no one, or less readers, reply anymore of late…..well, someone has to do the dirty job ;)

I didn’t even recognize Joan! At a first glance I thought it was just another mediocre L’Oreal photo with Beyoncé. Plus there’s another cover like this with Karlie Kloss. Joan and Karlie are not really look-alikes right? Well, W managed through photoshop to make them look like sisters. Not a great cover at all. They could have used any pretty girl and photoshop her like this.

Another epic fail!

Not to speak about W’s disgusting ‘Style Notes’ of Greek shipping heiress Eugenie Niarchos laying comfortable in a huge bathtub surrounded by dead animals posted on their Facebook page. How shallow and empty minded fashion people can be. The Euro has to be ‘saved’ by the common people of Europe so this sort of people can live like a sort of Caligula’s with their money safe on banks outside Greece.

Just saying!!

Oh and I am ever so glad that they wish to recognize Joan as the new face of fashion. Its nice to see a model of colour being touted as such for a change. : )
