Julia Roberts Ad Banned. Too Photoshopped

Have you heard the latest in ad campaigns today? Julia Roberts was advertising for L’Oreal and her campaign was pulled back due to over photoshopping.

Claims that this or that product can restore your youth and give you back the skin you had when you were in your twenties are getting on the consumers nerves. Both Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington acted as spokesfaces for L’oreal and both their respective ads were pulled. And that’s not all: not even the Advertising Standards Authority couldn’t see the original photos due to a preexistent agreement between the celebrities and the cosmetics brand. Can. Not. Believe. It! Can someone head over to Vogue and explain to them how we’re getting tired of seeing women in their mid 40s looking like they were 20yo?

About time! These ads are ridiculous. If Christy Turlington needs photo shopping what hope is there for the rest of us?

Right! I am also tired of all these perfection which we can never achieve. Plus I love natural looking faces.

These two words “crow’s feet”…ewwww…what’s wrong with them anyway? That happens when one laughs a lot.

I totally agree with you ajginger – natural beauty is the best. The fashion industry is becoming a caricature of itself – or it always has been & I wasn’t as cynical / critical as I have become – LOL!
I read alot of fashion blogs & Christy Turlington is universally admired – there is no need to photoshop her because follow her anyway.
