Reportedly both wearing Louis Vuitton dresses, Isabel Lucas and Leighton Meester were so very different! I chose to showcase them together because they represented the same house at the Met Gala 2011. But in fact, I liked Isabel’s dress and getup for this edition of the Met Ball. The jewelry pieces on her head and the earrings complimented Isabel’s face and carried the entire look.
As far as Leighton Meester goes – she’s trying too much, comme d’habitude. I have no idea why she keeps forcing those edgy styles on her classical figure, so maybe you’ll help me and tell me why she could playing so avant-garde! (photos via)

Leighton looks great though toned down here, I wish she would have gone for a crazier look.
I don’t get how you think she’s trying too hard here? She looks very demure and wears the look great, very much in tune with the Vuitton collection.
It may just be me, but I think the length and the shape of the dress don’t do any justice to Leighton’s body and young age. Besides, you said it too – it’s very toned down. Depressing.
Leighton is a lovely young woman with classic, sweet features, she should dress with something softer, more romantic and bohemian rather than try to edge up all the time. My views, again.
Sorry, I know their names but don’t know whom they are really? I only thought the one on the right is dressed very wrong. She’s not the type of woman/girl for that look. It looks weird. While I like the dress and shoes but not on her or right for the event?
The girl on the right, wearing the black dress, is the one and only Gossip Girl (do not watch either, but am familiar with the characters).
The girl on the left, even though I’ve seen her in more than just one movie, I can only remember her role from the last Transformers? Where she was a robot in disguise…
Oh, I tried to watch Gossip Girl but after episode two I gave up. Not my thing. And I’ve never seen the other one only though: what’s that thing on her head? The dress is nice but I find the jewellery a tad too much.
Yeah, she the hipster hippie.. It’s a bit too much, but matches the look, otherwise bland. Or so I think.
Leighton Meester (the girl in the black) is not actually “the” Gossip Girl (no one knows who that is yet), but she does play Blair Waldorf on the show. And I agree, the edgy and modern look is not working for her. Whoever said she had “romantic” features had it spot on. I wish she’d wear something softer and flowy to accentuate those features.
Also, Lucas (the girl on the left) looks lovely, but I think the head piece is a little too costume-y with the dress.
Thanks jlhruschak! (truth is, I always suspected Blair to be the one… And this would actually be plausible for her stylist always tried to create a different dimension for Leighton, like there was always something beyond her classic, romantic features).
(and for the record, I think Isabel has a strange way to dress herself , only this time she was looking more like a princess and less like her usual hobo self)
