Dean Martin That’s Amore

I wonder how have I ever missed this one? Dean Martin‘s That’s Amore is just as classic as the pizza or the very pasta he’s singing about!

I’m having a case of the horrid flu that’s taking everyone down for tea and napkins maintenance. Hoping it’ll go away really fast, I chose this positive, happy, so very popular tune to make all bad things good and bright. Singing and dancing around can do that to a person, you know? How was your week? And your soon to end weekend? I’m hoping it was all shiny and joyful and that your soon to begin week will be an amazing one!

Written by Jack Brooks and composed by Harry Warren in 1952 for Dean Martin, That’s Amore first saw the light of day in the movie “The Caddy“. It was an instant hit and even though it wasn’t awarded by the Academy for Best Original Song that year, it grew in popularity and people loved it more and more with each passing year.

Even now, after all this time, That’s Amore is played and sung everywhere from weddings to football games! And in all fairness for this is a merry tune about love and food! Who’s there foolish enough to stand against it?
