Though it was hard to believe, knowing this song from so many cover versions, it was originally sung and introduced to the world by the one and only Fred Astaire. The movie in which it was performed it’s called Top Hat, all the way back in 1935! Famously performed by Fred Astaire while dancing with Ginger Rogers, the song celebrates the joys of being with someone you love dearly.
Being such a wonderful and meaningful piece it was adopted by many soundtrack editors (from Les Miserables to Rain Man, passing through one of my all-time favorites The English Patient) and it will forever be a song cherished for celebrating love. Heaven… I’m in Heaven…

When I was little I used to love watching old musicals on tv. I loved the dancing and the style of them and during that time I developed a crush on Fred Astaire, I just loved to watch him dance and I loved how he dressed in his films (my favourite being Funny Face with my all time favourite Audrey Hepburn…LOVE THAT FILM!!)
