After the frizzy-ness and the relaxed hairdos pouring in the summertime, the 2010 fall brings us a new slick aesthetic. Feminine is de retour with long braids (think Asley Greene mid-back long) and rigorously straight hair for an edgy, rocky attitude. Hairstylist advice:
To maintain movement and volume, iron more hair at a time, versus less. The finer the sections, the flatter your results will be. I wish I knew that before I gave my (last out of three) straightener away! Sigh! Oh well, I guess I’ll be keeping my summer hair this fall too. How about you? (via 1, 2)

I find the straight styles to be flattering as long as they are not too plain. A few highlights goes a long way. I’m not talking dyed highlights, I mean slightly flipped ends, enough to give it personality be the highlight of the style. It looks natural and attractive. A small curve outward goes a long way.
