I really tried hard to go around this. However, there was something about it keeping me from letting go. Katie Holmes made a recent Red Carpet appearance at the National Movie Awards (you know, the same where Emma Watson wore that white Lagerfeld).
And no, she had no particular haircut (I’d say she’s going back to her old self, with shoulder-length and wavy locks). She had a special dress on. Not fancy, not couture, no particular catwalk designer. She was wearing a dress from her own collection: Holmes & Yang, you know, the one we’re impatiently waiting to see? However, as relaxed and chic the maxi dress, there’s still something weird about it. What would it be? Can you help me pinpoint the problem here? (photos via)

The problem with it is her. She looks like crap. Maybe life with ole Tom ain’t all that great. Oh, and the shoes are far to heavy looking for the dress. I love that all these women think they are designers. NOT!

Off topic: Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson walked the same red carpet. Gorgeous as ever, Diane taught him that according to Josh. They look so far more happy and seem to have real fun. And then this….is this love or can’t Katy get out of that sect? Brrrrrr….

The problem is, this “designer” has no sense of style. There is nothing interesting or beautiful about the clothes she wears. Usually, they are just expensive.
She’s just another rich woman running through her husbands money. The dress is not the least bit flattering. The shoes are too heavy for it. If the designer cannot even dress her self properly, why on earth is she dressing other women?
Fattening dress. Miserable shoes. She seems to be very uncomfortable.
The dress is clingy and may need static guard, or a lining, it is not all that cute and it is not all that original, the stripes are not flattering on her and she should be wearing different shoes. The waistline looks odd and maybe a belt would pull it together but honestly didn’t she have a full length mirror?
It’s a rag.
I am not fond of this dress and on Katie maybe it is an expression on how she really feels about life with Tomtology. That it is all one dizzy test pattern.
I thought that she was trying to become a “fashion maven” a la Victoria Beckham?
Well it is not working.
with a green belt or orange and light shoes, it will be nice, I like her haircut.
I laugh when some say she is older and different. Well duh she is older not the teen girl from the WB show anymore. She is 30 years old and now a wife and mom. Amazing actress,person,mom and wife.
The problems are countless but mainly it’s really just a shapeless, beach dress. Not flattering except when you stand perfectly straight, with zero wind, and preferably next to a guy much shorter than you so it can give the illusion that you are tall enough to carry those dizzying stripes. Looks like a walking crosswalk…..
