Talking about Fergie the other day has brought this Elle number she pulled for May 2010 to my mind. And why overlook it?
Fergie has moved up slowly and steadily to our stereos and entered straight to our hearts. First because you want to dance when you hear her; and dancing is like therapy for any (light) sorrow. Then because she’s such a simple, modest girl! (not to mention she got to marry Josh Duhamel). (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)
Even her cover picture feels earthly and warm. Photoshop aside. They went for a different styling in this issue. Joe Zee managed to bring out a softer, perfectly feminine Fergie. Not the usual pop stage performer she’s wearing, no, there’s something more underneath all those layers of makeup and stage persona. I’ll try to overlook the stiff pose from some images (the one where she’s wearing the Jean Paul Gaultier body hugging dress and when she’s sitting on a bench? Awfully wax-y) and focus on Fergie being a normal looking woman in a fashion magazine. Admitting she’s making huge efforts to lay off deserts and French fries. Adorably normal, isn’t she? (you can read more about it in the webxtrait of her interview here)
