As for Rihanna’s GQ – thank you! for being there with me! I though I was the only one feeling that this was simply too much and that it did not help the so called cause not one bit!

Remember when she broke her silence not long ago? (if you don’t, that’s alright, I wrote about it and you can read it/watch it right here – I linked back in this article in the first paragraph, under “her Chris Brown incident”) I think it was the first time I had ever seen/heard Rihanna speak. And it felt strange. Because all the pictures, all the concerts don’t show her true age and who she really is underneath that stage personality. Her outfits? I only see them as costumes. Just like Adriana said – you can’t be average, even if you have the vocal qualities required, and expect recognition from a wide audience. People want to be entertained. Yeah, the Adam Lambert way! Why? Because that gives them something to talk about. Something else than their average routine. It’s their way of living through others. Their choice.

I just think Rihanna lacked the coherence necessary to convince. At first she posed as the victim, the one who was hurt. And when she felt like the public was where she wanted it to be, she went on posing as “strong”, empowered. Too soon. Too much.

Then again, she’s a performer. An entertainer. And she must entertain at all costs. And she’s doing it quite well – remarquez – we’re fiercely debating her and her GQ morals!
