Lara Stone finally gets British recognition and graces the December 2009 cover of Vogue, the UK edition. She’s photographed by Mario Testino and portrayed as a modern day corseted princess.
Though Lara looks stylish and less racy than her usual explicitness, I have to ask, is there a princess-cliché for the December cover chez Vogue UK? Anyone experiences the same déjà vu I did, remembering Vogue UK December 2008 Kate Moss cover? (you can convince yourself or convince me otherwise by looking at the entire pictorial, right after the jump!) (photos via)

I haven’t got that deja-vu with the other cover but as you said it’s a typical cover when Christmas are “near”.
Anyway, I like the pictorial.
Ha, I was hoping you would come up with this one! I love this cover and the pictorial. How nice Lara can look like this. With eyebrows too! Very beautiful. That déjà vu feeling? Yes and no. As S. said: Christmas is near….
[...] VOGUE. (the other was her cover and countless editorials in French Vogue.) from the sneak peak in stylefrizz it seems this venture is far less interesting or envelope-pushing than what Stone is typically [...]
A Lara anecdote.
As you may have read Lara is an alcoholic. As she declares in the interview in this issue. I heard that yesterday in a Dutch show/lifestyle programme so this is nothing new. She was interviewed for Dutch Glamour Magazine September and told it herself! It has been published though no one paid attention to it here. She has been for a month in rehab in South-Africa. And doesn’t drink anymore. Champagne was not enough she needed Vodka. Champagne is always available at shoots and fashion shows.
The very fun lifestyle/fashion presenter who’s editor at chief at Dutch Glamour found this the right explanation for Lara’s angry, grumpy look! She likes Lara a lot though.
And I said to myself: “What a wonderful fashion world……”
Again a reason that young girls belongs at school and not in that world before they have the right age!
