Yes, those years were very hard for black people…..The fashion was wonderful but I believe that was the only good thing we can say about those years in general.

They look fabu and are mos def channeling a “Lady Day” look, with the elegance and the large flowers in the hair. I love this!
Kpriss have you seen the new layout in Vanity Fair with Zoe Saldana? She played Lt. Nyota Uhura in the new Star Trek revamp (she was stellar too). Apparently the layout for that is also in Black and white and has a real Harlem Renaissance feel to it.
Maybe you could post some of the photos from it? : )

Ah, 40′s fashion is so elegant. Look at that light coat: it shall never go out of fashion. Timeless elegance. Beatiful and a joy to see those ladies smile…..I’ve missed that! :)
