If my memory serves me (and things haven't changed in the last 2-3 years), it's not the store who makes the sizes. It's an official statement based on official sizing campaigns on volunteers. The relevant echantillons of people dictate how sizes move up or down the scale. I know that changes were on the way 3 years ago when they wanted to move up the sizes (not on paper!) because real life people changed their constitution and larger was the new reference.

I had a good size-history chez Gap but I still believe that once you found a fitting tailoring, you should stick to it. So many stores I don't go to because I know no matter the size, nothing there really fits my constitution.

..oh, those Gap khaki shorts...

*Even in Europe countries has different sizes*

My size is an Italian and French 38/40 (I'm Dutch). So I assume the Italians and French fool themselves? They're not that slim as fashion magazines made us believe. Especially not the Italians. Yeah, Paris, Milan and certain places. Not the average population.

Gap sizes are all out of whack anyway, they're huge! I am 2, sometimes 3 sizes smaller than my usual size at the Gap. They keep making the sizes bigger to make people feel better about themselves.

So i suppose you can consider that their size 10 is actually a 14 and that technically, they're actually depriving small people.

That would be a 36 here according to the list I have. So who's gonna buy this? Tiny teens? Don't they need profits?
It's hard to find a reliable international size-chart. A 36 is in the Netherlands for skinnies. I've 36/38 and of course I prefer 38.
Why isn't there an universal system for clothing sizes? Even in Europe countries has sizes.
