Money, money, money, I've the Formula 1 on and it has lost its lustre. And that made me think about this event. It's all almost vulgair. Money can buy anything......even the best car since Richard Branson has invest in Brawn GP (new team) I call that car the Brawnson. It's the winner until now at the moment, the car not the racer Jenson Button who didn't do much spectactular the last seasons.......Yes, dear fashion lovers, next week boring Monaco, Cannes Film Festival, the glamour race, film, celeb, fashion party for the filthy rich....a very boring race for us race lovers.
The same Richard Branson has paid I believe 1 mill. pound for Kate Moss' biography which shall be written by a ghost writer of course. What is there more "interesting" to read about this woman than we already know about?

Anyway, I do agree with everyone who think so, it is a bloody shame Azzedine Alaia has been snubbed. If it's a miscommunication or whatever, I can't believe that something as important as this is such.....I just can't.....Whoever is responsible, Wintour or Koda, it's a shame. And it's all so elitist too.
That Marc Jacobs and Kate Moss, good friends as well and the IT-people were hosting.....I don't think they were the right hosts. But who am I? Would Jerry Hall, Lauren Hutton been the right models? One of the older models who are still around and have proved their longevity? Because these ladies sure have!
I wasn't anti-Kate-hosting this event until I'd read her duty was paid for. She also ended up on Style.com best dressed as the nr. 1. Paid for too? She was not that spectactular dressed at all imo.
This should have been a duty of honour done for free for the love of the art off fashion. Even if they had end up with Kate after all. And we don't need to discuss why Alaia should have been part at this exhibition.
It just does show me what an ego-maniac, money thrilled this what have should been a stylish event really is. Bah!
And some people aside, their trashy animal carpet looked just like every red carpet.
They've cut down expenses on Cannes since big sponsors have pulled out, I'm looking forward to the coverage about film! I don't need another red carpet. End of rant.

On a happier note, I forgot to mention that I love it that Michelle Obama wears her hair like this. It looks great.

This entire buzz about Alaia and the Kate Moss-Philip Green affair tarnish the very beauty of this exhibition (and event). It should've been a celebration, instead it's just another biased way to fight for fashpower and crush everyone else in following greater, egocentric interests!

Michelle looks lovely, as always :X

Adriana, I read few sites debating TopShop's Philip Green's sponsoring the event thus imposing Kate Moss as hostess extraordinaire. But imo she should've known better than to throw herself to the supers! It was wrong to have her lead the event when so many super/models were in right to do so. But then again, how to choose the right model-host? and who was best fit for the role?

I think Ellington is right.
I can't believe first lady like Michelle Obama likes to be involved in this kinda childish drama in her position.

If you read around the web about this all it's almost too silly for words. Why does no one argue about the fact that Kate Moss' host duty was paid for by "Uncle" Philip Green?
Naomi showed up at Marc Jacobs' after-party. It should have been consequent if she should have skipped all the festivities around this Gala in my view. Stephanie Seymour has other things on her mind since she is in a -as what it seems- ugly divorce situation so what about Linda?

If I was a Saturday Night Live comedian I would do a sketch about this all!

I don't think that Michelle Obama thinks about taking sides when it comes to what she wears. I honestly think that she wears what she likes and what she feels is suitable for the occasion.
