The video’s were amazing to watch how he did it and why it’s called Transformer. Brilliant. As brilliant as our Delta Works. We Dutch are very inventive. (Kind of proud here….)

Kpriss, before I get lost in translation do you mean with “it’s the designers proximity” that they, or in this case the Prada family, live in their own creative world? Because I’ve often the feeling if these people have lost contact with “normality” or the real world…….???

Rem Koolhaas was one of the reasons I started looking around for information about the Prada Transformer ;)

and it was named Transformer because it’s lifted and turned into another space with another destination but it’s the same structure after all. So it didn’t came from me. Wish it did, it really describes it wonderfully.

Adriana, why? is it the designer’s creations proximity? (that would be it, for me)

The reservation policy is just to control the flow of people and it was quite simple – just state a time and date that you want to go and they’ll have tickets ready for you at the front desk.

I went during the day time but the press photo taken at night makes it look very different!

Kpriss, honestly before I’d read your line “But my common sense is alarmed by the way art is turning into fashion. And fashion into that kind of art” it did cross my mind yet! But it is fascinating and yes, I would love to experience this, oh sure…..

This is rather nifty! I like Rem Koolhaas he is one of my favourite architectural practices and architects, and Prada is one of my favourite design houses. Its a fabu mix. Actually when you wrote Transformer Kpriss I thought you might have been referring to the robots who are also kind of nifty in their own right! ; )
