Der Kaiser is immortal I'm afraid. He's an actor too now. Well he lend his voice in a French animated film named Totally Spies. It's based on a apparantly populair tv-serie. He "plays" a villain named Fabu! LOL!
"Spies" is set for a spin around the world, with sales in major territories including Switzerland, Australia, Mexico, Benelux, Eastern Europe and is in negotiations for sales to the U.K., Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Greece and Spain.
Until now not the US or Netherlands and Belgium.
I bet he's a real villain who has a developed a secret immortal elixer and one day he's Der Kaiser auf der vollständige Welt!

Carole, welcome!

Adriana, the things we do for fashion! ;)

and since the question popped up: I would not, like in a gazillion years, paint my name on my bag. So many creative ways to embellish and bring a touch of your personality without bringing out your name (hey, while we're at it, why not mark your address and your phone number on the back, who knows, maybe someone will return it if it gets lost!)

But the truth is the Kaiser can get away with anything! everything he touches has a magical glow to it. Even that plain bag! Impatiently waiting to see his next style achievements!

LOL! I know that too! I was sooooo happy when it was approved and I could get rid of that bucket and wooden spoon hahaha.....Well it was my pleasure. Oh, I've saved some vintage tins, those small round things, as a novelty and a memory.

Wow, you guys are amazing for tips about dyeing! Adrianna, you'll be pleased to know that you don't have to heat up the hand dye at all nowadays. It's warm water only - no smell, nothing unpleasant.

That said, i didn't realise that i had a small hole in my rubber gloves and had pink fingers for half a day when i used the gorgeous Flamingo Pink for a cardigan recently!

Thanks for all the tips. I'll post these on Twitter now.

I know! Years ago coloured tights were not available, as an example. I could lay my hand on a dozen of white ones and I've dyed them in all colours! Not a nice job btw. In a bucket on the oven slowly stir around and around for 15 minutes(?) in the mean time trying to read a book lol. Yeah, I'd really suffer for fashion because it was bloody hot and the smell was so nasty.
DYLON is the best to customize clothes and fix them up.

And natural vinegar is so nice for colours and softens the wash too. As a teen (tip from my granny) I made my hair shiny with it too.
So if the recession hits you there are so many ways to survive it stylish as possible!

@Adriana

My god, what a great tip! I shall tell the DYLON team that one. Also, if you ever have a small quantity to dye or something that can't be washed in the machine, there is dye for hand wash use. I've used it and it's good!

@Carole Scott: I LOVE DYLON! Use it since ages.

Tip: sometimes I dye some black stuff together when it has faded. After that it's so nice to wash the dyed black pieces with other black stuff which cannot handle the heat the Wash Dylon needs and so that stuff looks nicer black too.

I'm working with DYLON Fabric Dyes - just for a bit of fun, you could try creating your own - details on DYLON's dyetodye twitter page.

But the question is, would you paint 'KARL WHO?' or would you go for your own name?!

Just to be transparent - I am from DYLON's PR agency, so understand if you don't want to keep this post up.
