Someone give me my 10 minutes back! That’s what I lost reading the New York Magazine interview with Kate Moss and Sir Philip Green!
When I first saw the cover I said um.. that’s Kate Moss? For sure? It’s not Lindsay Lohan doing one of her Marilyn games? Then I had confirmation on nymag’s website! It’s Kate Moss, covering the Spring Fashion Issue! (don’t miss the rest of the pictures after the jump!)
Before getting any further, let me just tell you that this interview kinda puts a stop to those pregnancy rumors. Because Kate proudly admits to putting a few pounds and becoming a woman now!
The interview, occasioned by the n-th opening of the Soho Topshop (opening that was so many times postponed, I’m beginning to hear someone distantly crying “Wolf!” when it comes to that shop) is something torn out of a Twilight Zone episode! The ping-pong lines, the childish and empty dissertations make me wonder what fashion is really like!
I started this website because I believed in quality, because I really do believe in professionals and my dream isn’t to attend a Fashion Week just because it’s chic to be there! Let the tents be populated by the pros. Reading about Kate Moss confessing that she can’t draw a dress, “really” even if she has her own clothing brand seriously raises my eyebrows.
I was expecting this, of course. But reading her talking about it so nonchalantly, I feel offended. Why does Kate’s Topshop Collection sell out the first day (almost every time)? Because young women want to look like Kate. Not because they appreciate her designs. Because, basically, they’re all just thieves! They want Kate’s stuffed closet!
Legally can’t so they wisely decide it makes a world of ethical difference to buy Kate Moss wardrobe inspired clothes. What happened to making your own style? (the pictures are… questionable, like someone thought we can put up with anything-Kate Moss). Well, can we? (you can read the interview here)
